Something is rattling/ticking under my truck when 2nd/3rd/4th/5th gears are engaged. The noise gets louder the more I am accelerating and the higher the gear. It does not tick in neutral or 1st gear, leading me to think that it only ticks when my engine/drivetrain is under a certain power load. Not sure what the issue is, but this is my daily driver and I need it to run well.

Extender cab?

Check carrier bearing

Google: ford ranger center support bearing

If that is what it is then u-joints are not too expensive so...............might as well change those

I'll check it today after school. And yes, it is an extended cab.

I unbolted the carrier bearing housing from the frame and it seemed to spin smoothly. I accidentally destroyed a clip that holds it down, so I'm without a vehicle until I find the part. Whoops...
