PlumCrazy's Build

but. i left out the key factor.

v8 power double that of stock. and a goal of 38 in tires.

the v8 power was the killer of my 1/2 ton axles.

Supercharged V6 and 100+:1 gearing will probably break any axle I put under there....I know this. I am just planning on it holding together long enough for me to things together for the next rig...

TTB just isn't a suspension meant for the terrain I wheel....large rocks.

Thanks for the brake info, Seth. I'm now will be looking out for a 5 lug van axle. Any chance you measured the wms?

Jim,
If you look back through most of these fellas older posts Im sure that youll find them bashing on the ttb. Maybe not directly at one individual, more like all of us using a ttb lol. Sorry, but when I read cocky little punks patting themselves on the back and contradicting themselves I find it hard to bite my tongue and not say anything. Read through my old posts/messages. People who give respect, get respect. When someone has a question and I might be able to help I try to answer them without making myself sound like a douche. Unfortunately I havent always gotten the same respect back. I dont go crying to the teacher though. Sniff sniff boo hoo.

I'm a fan of the TTB. Honestly, I'd rather have a Dana 50 TTB under the front of a Ranger with coils. I've driven the Ranger, my F250 with the D50 TTB, and my Excursion with the solid front axle. I want a setup that will be strong offroad, but still have a comfortable ride on the highway.

Now that my wife has a good job again, we'll be back to work on her Ranger this year. We'll be keeping the D35, but using the D44 knuckles and hubs. It will give us the strength we need, but still offer a good ride.

But that's my preference. I don't judge anyone doing a SAS. To each their own.

Nobody went crying to the teacher. If members start bickering, the staff here picks up on it pretty quick.

My guess is that you will be ring shopping before you get a 60

I did things last night...but my phone died, so no proof. I setup the 5.13s in the 44. USA gears make a pretty shitty contact pattern FYI. I got the lash and coast to look perfect, but the drive side leaves something to be desired. It makes a long skinny pattern with no defined ends. I think the pinion is on the deeper side if anything, but if I change it Ill lose the coast pattern. I decided to go with it. Pressed bearings on, seals are in, ARP studs torqued and ready to rock.

Plan on getting it under the truck tonight then Ill mock up steering and track bar.

Picked up some 15x8s to possibly add beadlocks or just use for street duty. Not a huge fan of the 4" BS. Id like to have 3" or less to get the tire off the radius arm and increase stability a bit. I am considering recentering them and adding beadlocks.

This little fella showed up for the 8.8....Auburn Ected Max...needs a little attention. The PO snapped the cross pin and it boogered up on hole in the carrier a tad on the way out. Thinking I will machine it out and make a bushing. The pin is kind of poorly designed with the retaining bolt drilled smack dab in the center.

I meant bead locks OR street duty. Not sure what I will end up doing with them.

Why beadlocks for street duty?

Bead locks OR Street duty

Edit: But you never know. I have seen him drive. Never know when you need to rub a curb or crawl a concrete barrier.
