Damn, I was 2 hours away from you a couple days ago. Was in Vail from Sunday through Wednesday. Could have made a shortcut from CO to GA, though I don't think the airplane was a Ford and it certainly couldn't have been mistaken for a Ranger.

Well, a bit of a setback, but not a major one. Had planned on meeting up with getrdone52 this Sunday, but a member of my fire department passed away last night, and I need to help prepare trucks and such with his services being Monday. So we have rescheduled for two weeks from now, due to next Sunday being the Super Bowl. Hope you guys understand.

Seriously the banner has been in play for what... 2 years now? I don't think an extra two weeks will hurt it much.

No, not a LOD death, but one that there is a good possibility that was related to the fire service. This guy deserves everything we can give him. He was on our department for 38 years and was our chief for some of that. He had actually just retired from the department a couple of months ago. Hadn't felt well for a few weeks, wife talked him into going to the doctor finally, and found out he had cancer in his lungs and liver. That was a week ago. He only made it about another week and a half after finding that out. But I guess in a way its better that it took him so fast instead of the illness dragging out for months or even years.

The number one cause of death in our field of firefighting is heart attack. Glad to hear it wasn't LOD. Also glad to hear he didn't suffer long. Condolences goes out to him and his family...
