Need advice on locking rear diff

ECTED is a LS when not engaged and full lock when. Can be locked while moving. Known to fail? Lol

Check the tests, they blew other rear end parts...not the diff.

Plus the warranty. NOBODY offers a warranty like they do. Good investment

And nobody else has LS while unlocked fyi

Huh, I've never seen those before either. About damn time they made one. Congrats on the find!

It's NOT a locker. It uses a magnet mechanism to press the clutch pack together tighter, it's still a limited slip, just a very very stiff one. After a while the clutches will wear and you'll loose locking ability. Then you have to tear your rear end apart to rebuild it. If they used a tooth mechanism to lock it like, well, every other actual locker out there, it would be just fine.

With enough torque and proper tires, you'll get it to slip.

This is getting to be a different topic though, let's try to stay on the OP's question. (however I think it's solved)

Yes it's been ordered. I'll post up up pics when we install it. Looks like powertrax just started making it recently. I may be one of the first guys to get one.

Let us know how that thing handles/works.

The Aussie is only available for the 31 spline 8.8 last I checked, but is a very good lunchbox locker... I put some serious load on mine a few weeks ago doing a tractor pull, 5.13:1 gears, fresh 35" BFG MT's, low range first gear, turbo 2.3 pushing 12psi boost (ported head, more airflow = less boost, used to do 16psi before the porting), enough power to bend the drivers side leaf spring and lift the drivers side front tire before the rear yoke let go. Anyway, I barely notice the locker back there on the street but it works great.

Thread jack.

Ever get it to hold up for a complete pull? How'd it do compared to the rest of the trucks?

Sent from my iPhone.

Only one pull where I pulled, it was about to stop one way or another, if I had a traction bar I might have been able to go another 6"... I beat a 4.0L cherokee, two 350 powered Wranglers, and two 4 cylinder Toyotas...

We got the locker in yesterday. Real simple install with good directions. The original clutch discs were completely gone nothing was left. I haven't driven it yet, still waiting for the rtv to dry.
