I could do a rent-to-buy deal

I would even throw in fuel pump...

He has a lot fewer responsibilities than I do.lol

He can afford to spend some of his moldy money.

Uh oh. I have a problem.

My buddy has been working on a CJ/YJ for some time now. He got a new job last year and he travels for weeks at a time. So he has money, but no time. He wants me to take this Jeep thing for cheap. I keep telling myself I cant do it. Its not right.

Specs:
YJ Frame and Tub and interior.
Fresh 350 SBC (installed)
SM 465 (installed)
Tcase? Dont remember what he used.
4 link rear
Leaf front
D60 / 14 bolt, 4.56s
Military 37s
8 pt cage (in a box)
Blasted and painted frame.

$ Really really cheap.

I cant buy it and part it. That's not the deal.

That is extremely tempting. It would technically meet your requirements. It will seat 4 and could be road legal. You could wheel it for a while and see how you like. Sell it later and maybe turn a profit....

Edit: Actually no matter what you do with it you can't lose money.... Go for it. The axles with those gears alone are almost with that kind of cah!

I am in a pickle for sure. I know its worth $3-4 on the dollar.

It needs to be lowered like 12". And those tires need to go. But still.

I believe it was Warren Buffet who said, "If you can buy dollar bills for 80 cents, that's a very good thing."

You could always buy it, finish it, sell it, and give your buddy some of the profit.

I know its a Jeep, but way to good of a deal to pass up...

as for a D44 axle, I know where a complete one is from a driving 79 truck...even has brand new Warn Premiums...all for $150....

Jeeps are gay:icon_thumby:

x2

here's my .02.......everybody has damn jeeps, i'm tired of it. the thing that really pisses me off about them is the fact that to get one to run reliably and perform really well, you have to rip all the jeep stuff out. so really, you've just got a tub and frame that is a jeep and parts from other vehicles to make it run and not break every 10 feet. i'd want something different, but that's why i said "my .02".

yes, true....what do ya think Jeep stands for

J = Just
E = Everybody
E = Else's
P = Parts

but, as was mentioned, he is basically just buying a Jeep tub and frame...it the axles, gears, and other stuff that makes it a good buy....

Exactly. I have always made fun of Jeeps. That is one of the reasons. EVERYONE has one. They can open up a catalog, buy a bunch bolt on parts and claim they have a built Jeep. Wheeling a Jeep goes against everything I make fun of lol. But I am not sure this one falls in that category.

Those catalogs are actually overwhelming. My wife drives a 2013 JK and I ordered some catalogs to see what it would take to get 33s under it. There were like 20 pages just for lift kits. Wow. And the prices on all the other little stuff... I am sticking with RBVs!

Plum and I went wheelin a few weekends ago. There were 54 rigs. We were the ONLY Fords there. Our 2 Rangers and the B2 that was with us. There were also only 3 Ford tow rigs, ours. We were heavily out numbered. There were JKs everywhere. Everywhere. And they don't wheel like we do :dunno:

I like different. I like simple. I like cheap. I wheel hard. I do not worry about damage. My buddy that has this Jeep now is the same way. That is why it is basically a Chevy with a Jeep tub LOL
