Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

Just curious but how much up-travel do you have? Those radius arms look pretty close to the frame.

About 3" or 4". They are plenty far away from the frame compared to where they were.

New steering with new heims, fixed up diff covers, replaced all seals and some bearing

Had it going 60 down the road drove pretty good, ready to wheel.

Have you had any problems with not having a fairlead? I am thinking about doing something similar to yours in order to free up approach angle, and was just wondering...

He does have a fairlead, it's just taking place as the part of the bumper :)

Your right, I built it into the bumper because every roller fairlead I put on I smashed up. This way the cable can't come off and it kinda guides the cable in without losing approach angle. It works ok, but some people have a problem with it when the cable rubs the tube. I plan on switching to rope then I don't think ill have any problems.

did you get my trans fixed yet?

Did some hacking and wacking on my axles today. Cut and ground all my brackets off, shved the 14 bolt, it is now a 13 bolt, and cut the center section down on the 60 for room for the wedges. Happy with how it all turned out.

Pile of crap I cut off....

Axels all cleaned up and primered

The area I cut off for wedge clearance. It is about 1.5" or so

The shave on the 14 bolt. I still need to plate it up, but It will give me about 1.25 of clearance and no lip to catch on.

next on the list is to install gears, weld axle tubes, then plate the bottom of the 14 bolt.

Just wondering if you had to trim the wedges themselves to get them to fit? It looks like a tight fit.

You got a set or need a set? I have the wedges from my 60 available....
