My 91 Ranger the stRanger

I just wanted to say I have enjoyed readin this from start to finish.
Its great to see you build this and put it to use at the same time. I think you have done a fantastic job on your build, posts, and pics with enthusiasm It keeps trs interesting. Congrats on your totm win. Well deserved and thank you.
Thanks a lot I appreciate it!

Here is yesterdays progress. I got the base of the tube bed welded on, and I got the fuel cell installed and hooked up. Everything works great. I do not have a fuel quantity gauge though, but oh well, I have a pretty good idea how far I can go on one tank so I am not too worried about it. For anyone wanting to install a different fuel pump, the stock wiring is pink for power, and black for ground. The other 2 wires on the stock connection is for the gauge.

The plan next is to weld on the sliders. After that make the hoop on the back. The fuel cell is going to have a removable platform above it for protection and mounting gear. The rest of the bed is still in the design phase and wont have much a final plan until I get the hoop on to build off of.

I like! lookin good.

Nice. Can you run open wheels legally on the road down in Arkansas? I am pretty sure in PA that it would need fenders of some sort to keep the Coppers happy!

In Arkansas if it has brakes and a license plate it can go down the road. They don't have any laws

Ok I need some opinions with the sliders. First I am trying to figure out if I want to keep them this long. I have the front set where I want but on the back I am trying to figure out if this would be good or if I should make them a couple inches shorter?

Also I am trying to figure out how much I should space them out. The pic above is with the inner tube of the slider just past the rocker line. Opinions needed please!

I say move them in about 2 inches. And the length, well, looks odd not having a bed.

Yeah it does look odd for now but keep in mind there hill be a hoop attaching at the end of the cab, and another tube coming from the end of the slider to where the horizontal tube goes. I am going to try my hand at paint later to see if I can explain it better

I understand what ya saying...just looks odd at the moment.

Looks good. Leaves some tube for you to start a bed cage off. Could slide a small toolbox in there too above the slider but below the deck

Ok been working on the passenger slider since I got home from work. What a PITA! Its pretty hard to position it perfectly when you are a one man show. I used the jack stands at their highest setting and got crafty with some ratchet straps. Basically all I am going to do tomorrow is weld up the legs and mounting plates and paint them. Then another day I will do the driver side (ugh) and finally weld them to the frame this week.

I wouldn't move them in at all. Flush with the tires will save your ass when it comes to rubbing a tree.

Both my bedsides are dented in front of my rear wheels from trees catching the rear tire and pulling me into them.

Go back and look in my build...when I put my sliders on EVERYBODy thought they looked to long and looked bad. That was before I finished the bed. Now that its done everybody thinks it looks perfect.

I wouldnt change anything.
