TRS Banner Across North America 2012 - Alaska to Key West Florida (OFFICIAL)

Ok thisfords4u, Roseburg it is on the 29th.
Your idea sounds good to me. That would be an incredible gesture of respect and remembrance.
If you can get the name of the cemetary I will meet you there.

i can help with it if needed. I live in northern alabama and dont mind driving to nashville(roughly 2 hrs north) and meeting someone else south or east(willing to drive another 2/3 hours ).........so basically i can handle it from nashville,tn to birmingham,al??? or something equivalent.

B.H.......that would be a big help...stay tuned to this thread....and check the TRS BANNER MAP for members in your area!

Yep...Chance would really like that...I don't know if his family keeps up with TRS...if someone in the area could print a picture of the Banner at his Marker & put it in a clear waterproof cover....his family would get to see it when they visit his grave (that's what my son's friends do at his marker).

eastward through the snow......slow as necessary.

Banner latest..last minute changes
The signing south of here turned into a handoff, apparently the member wanted to run it around Portland area for signing.
I was going to take it South on the 29th, after receiving it today, and hand it off to thisfords4u in Roseburg, Ore, he is confirmed. I don't see this being possible for me traveling from Spanaway with a late handoff on the 29th.
thisfords4u wants to take a picture at Chance's marker in Roseburg as a tribute. It would be nice to see that someone in the Portland area can get it to him so he can make that happen.
2004XLMiller would pick it up from thisfords4u and run it down into California in mid Janruary, he is confirmed as well.
I had set up a few signings along the way on the 29th, so I will send PMs to those about the unexpected change, if they want to find a way to make it happen down south they can.
Thats about the best I can do, had a plan and it didn't survive contact.
Be sure to keep it moving, thats the goal

Roseburg is about as far north as I'ld like to go. as I would still need to take it west/south to Eureka. but also open to other ideas. days are also open.

Nice try Men.....

everybody---regroup/keep posting/ & try to keep it moving.....

Great trip and great crew from the Yukon. Here is a teaser of them in my hometown of Delta Junction, the Northern terminus of the ALCAN HWY.

Alright the banner has crossed the border into the US. Here are some pics!
The US/Canadian line goes right through the side of the arch.

OK - Listen UP!!

The hardest part of this journey should have been getting across the remote areas of Alaska and Canada.

The map above should REALLY put this in perspective. The yellow line is an approximate representation to the area / distance the banner has traveled.

Don't let the hard work and sacrifices made by those that have already carried this map go to waste.

The banner has almost covered 1/2 the distance it needs to go. Now that is has reached the lower 48 states it's stalling out.

Since reaching the 48 states there hasn't been any photos of hand offs, or announcements that the banner has been moving.

Please post photos of the signing, hand offs, and let's move this. We've taken one of these banners across the lower 48 before.

We can do this!

Seems like its been forever since we had it up here in Alaska. Took alot of dedication, planning and $ to get it around Alaska and the Yukon guys really stepped up too, the handoff was a blast with them guys... Good memories.:icon_cheers:

Jim, I too went back to see when the banner crossed over, how about Oct 28? Might be Spring by the time it gets to the upper Mid-West. I know a couple of us have a move range of 300-400 miles.
