Redneck Truck of the Month or RNTOTM

:iamwithstupid:

DD of the month would be nice. My Cummins Explorer wont really fit into either existing class, But it will be a nice DD. :D

I do agree, you can do a lot of work customizing a vehicle and not come out into anything that falls under "Offroad" or "Street"

AllenD's rig is the first one that comes to mind... never seen a pic of it but from what he has said it is pretty unique.

Mine would still be stuck in an awkward place between offroad and DD though. I honestly don't care, I don't want to throw fence posts or feed sacks into anything much taller... but its current height is nice for getting over stuff (and under it with a creeper :secret:)

The only thing I could possibly win is MOTP90 (most original truck pre 90)

This is/was my point...this thread is for FUN....use this thread to nominate yourself for what YOU think your vehicle qualifies for!!! It's For FUN!!!!

I realize dangerranger83 wanted this to be a REDNECK TRUCK thread (and I'm sure that he was referring to a safe, driveable vehicle)---Maybe it needs to stay a Redneck Truck Thread---but some of you disagreed with valid reasons...I apologize if I was out of line with him....but it seems like he has a basically great idea with a lot of replies---Why let his thread fizzle out?

.....POST A PIC OF YOUR VEHICLE and nominate it for SOMETHING---ANYTHING..................

It's for F-U-N!!!!

I just saw this truck that would be in the running at the big car show in Iola. Kind of a red-neck moble home/hunting/fishing shack. I think the current system is just fine, if you see a different truck, post it in a seperate thread. We all think we need a pat on the back now and then but.

Most Hacked Up, Thrown Together With Whatever Junk You Have Lying Around, Redneck, $4.73 Budget Sh!tbox doesnt deserve an award. It deserves to be towed to a junkyard and crushed. You want an award, build something nice. :thefinger:

isn't that where hotrodding all started just piecing together whatever you could scrounge together to make your ride faster or better? hotrodding isn't about shiny paint or winning concourse its about ingenuity and making the best with what you got and making it what you want it to be and what makes you happy.

Good point snoranger.....I think we all at TRS agree that our vehicle should be safe...no matter what it looks like....

annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd.....it looks like you've already created "THE AWARD".....

;missingteeth;

I agree on the DD truck of the month. Not so into this redneck crap since I see enough of this crap everyday around here and want to toss a grenade at the pos truck for not being road worthy with missing headlights, cracked glass or no windshield and bald or near flat tires and smoking so bad and running so bad and leaking gas and oil all over the place.....lol. I really do miss our Florida yearly inspections...it used to keep crap vehicles off the road.....

Yes, to the DD truck of the month!!!!

:icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

nice thing about southern florida....i usually dont get a second look.

there is a fine line here.

my hacked up broke glass pos (contraption is the latest term the police have used as of the ride home from work this morning) is in need of some structural cab repair for sure...she flexes and buckles the floor a bit in extreme offroad situations to the point of relief cracking. have not decided what to do about that, but its plenty solid for normal use.

it for sure looks like it needs to be in a junkyard. looking inside is scary to a normal person or police officer......i just ground a dangling wire to run the glow plugs....the rear speakers died and crackle from being under water and i still have no bedsides or filler in my bed or front fenderwells several of the trim panels are off exposing old unused wiring from various setups over the past 20 years....its a train wreck to the uninitiated....to a well rounded mechanic a few minutes of staring will have it all figured out.

a properly shelf lifted ranger on 37 in or bigger tires wont touch this fawker as far as road safe goes not to mention out in the trails where mall rated wont get it. i would consider a new properly shelf built truck at that tire size worthy of the junkyard first, because i see so many there when i go get parts.

and that is what matters to me. it is safe. my kids drive it....it has to be.

my truck does everything for me. its also my main vehicle....driving it 7 thousand miles in a month still happens sometimes as well.....its not welcome in pa or ny....and i hate driving 7 k in a month when its required, but you do what you have to.

so time...or the lack of it is why it is so damn ugly....

but i love it anyway.

as to pa and ny.... fawk em.

how bout....ugly redneck truck of the month?

or just ugly truck of the month.....whats wrong with that?

theres no more ugly truck of the month?

IMO you are more worthy of ORTOTM than UTOTM. :icon_thumby:

When did we start talking about hotrods? I thought we were talking about a redneck award. Those old hotrods won races, not awards.

If it works good on or off road, its safe to drive on the street, and reliable enough to get you home at the end of the day, by all means drive it.... But dont expect an award.

Let me quote myself.

Off-the-shelf lifts are for people who cant build it themselves. :icon_thumby:

Most people you don't want building lifts. You might see a radius arm that says Bowflex.

No way would you see a lift that said Chuck Norris' Total Gym though, you can't cut that shit up.

I define hotrod as any vehicle that you modify to improve performance, whether that means acceleration, handling, or offroading, as long as it involves passion and creative solutions. I don't think a hotrod has to be a 32 ford it can be an 85 camaro or a 98civic or even a ranger. and I think redneck truck also involves passion and creative solutions so in my mind they are one in the same.

But does it deserve an award?
