Full Width SAS on '90 Danger the 4th

Got these off of Craigslist last night. $10 for the set of 8. 4 LH and 4 RH.

They are smaller though. The weld in bung is for a 1" ID tube and the hiem uses a 1/2" bolt. Not sure what I am going to do with them yet. He bought them from ballisitc fab so I need to look up more info. For $10 I could not pass it up. They might be good for a rear ladder bar...

My next project is to make new tube radius arms. I am pretty sure these will work for that task.

Well, the reason I have been MIA for almost a year has finally arrived.
We had our son on Independence Day, 2012. He was due on the 16th, but i guess he wanted to catch some fireworks!
So, meet Benny, my future wheelin' partner!

Two days before he was born, I picked up some stock 94 ranger rear leaf springs. Mine are super soft XJ ones. I am trying to get more flex out of my front end. 90% of my issue is probably due to my stock arm bushings, but I wanted to try stiffer rear springs and see what happens. They were $40 so why not. Now I just need to find the time to button it up and see how it does. Doubt it will work tho haha.

Also, with these new springs, I will be using the factory block again. Turns out my aluminum 1" did not hold up. The centering pin was gone haha.

Also, before I took it apart, I decided to blaze through my field. Due to the tall grass, I miss judged the culvert and nailed it. Bent my steering wheel a bit and I didnt have a front drive shaft in. An embarrassing stuck...

A buddy of mine had a mid-life crisis... in his 20s haha.
He ordered a brand new Rubicon last month. We were at a fish fry and somehow I talked him into wheelin' it. It had a little over 1,000 miles on the clock. It was a blast. Electric sway bar disconnects,4:1 t-case and factory lockers are pretty nice. As well as heated seats and a killer sound system. However, he is very picky about his rides. He spent 8 hrs the next day buffing out all the scratches haha. And yes, it has the manual trans.

how to you open the hood since you have that grille? theres no hole to pop the latch?

Thanks man!!

And you can stick your finger through the slots to open. It's a pain if you have thick fingers like I do. Want to buy it? lol

Got the stock Ranger leafs back in. The front does flex better, but I would not call it flexing. I am running 190ppi coils. The front should tuck easily.
I am going to get some tubing quotes from my tube vendors tomorrow. I am just going to cut the stock arms and sleeve them. Then use heim joints and make a new mount/cross member.

Also, since I dont currently have a tow rig, I welded on a 2" receiver to use as a step and to move my trailer around. Hopefully I have another tow rig soon.

As many of you know, I sold my tow rig a few months ago. This is the first time I have not had an 8-lug truck or any roadable truck for that matter since 2002. That is the year I turned 16 haha.

So until I get another tow rig, I am working on getting my Ranger roadable again.

The frist step is to get rid of my $15 junk yard steering off of a 1979 F-150. All of the joints are shot and most of the threads were shot. So I welded them instead of using nuts. It was only supposed to be temporary. But it worked (up to 35 mph) so I have been running that setup for 1.5 yrs. So I have pulled that off and I am going to make new steering. The current setup will become my emergency spare.

I ordered 1.5" OD x 0.25" wall DOM tube today. I got 9 feet for $65 shipped to work.

I am going to be using 4 of 8 rod ends/hiems i got of CL for $10. They are 3/4" Ballistic units with 1/2" misalignment spacers.

I will be drilling the tapered holes in my knuckles out to 3/4" OD. Have not figured out how to do that yet. I can bring them to work but I want to find an easier way. I will not be using the misalignment spacers on the the rod ends that attach to the knuckles.

For the drag link, I am going to use 5/8" bolts. I will be drilling the spacers out to 5/8" as well as my 2wd pitman arm. The drag link will attach to the cross tube/link via tabs.

I hope to keep it under $120. Should be an easy budget.

Got a new truck a few weeks ago.
Its not a 4x4 or a single wheel. But it is a super clean, one owner, low mile, crew cab long bed Powersroke with the ZF5 trans. However, it is a 2wd dually. Since Ford did not offer this body style in a crew cab dually 4x4, I am going to turn it into one. However, I am also thinking about lowing it. I love lowered duallys and already have (2) 4wd vehicles. We will see. Someday...
Here she is. Got her ready for a wedding last weekend.

On the other hand, I have everything I need to make my new steering. Just need time and get my knuckles dilled out.

My pops picked up super clean 94 Turbo IDI just like that but dark green.lol. We put flatty with a dump on it and it looks pretty good.
