Performance chip for my ranger?

I've been seeing these ads for a gforce performance chip and the stats they say it gives are awesome, and for 70 bucks, hell yeah! I have a 93 and would like to give it a lil more power in a more simple and cheap way, but i'm concerned. I'm afraid that if I get one and install it, it will throw something off in my truck. I would think that putting new technology like a chip into something old like a 93 would do something like that. Any suggestions? Does anyone have a chip in their 93? Let alone, have one in their ranger at all?

The GForce chip is just a resistor. The fact that the GForce ads and numerous Chevy ads show up in the top banner makes me think that Jim has limited control over the ad content that shows up in there.
