Prius rant

The Bradley fighting vehicle is driven by several electric motors. Those are driven though some pretty harsh environments.

is it a ford escape hybrid, and would U feel comfortable driving it through a water crossing or mud, thats what this whole damn argument was about....not a brady tank ro something that someone spent years fo design time to MAKE IT GO ANYWHERE

I wouldn't drive a Ford Escape anywhere, let alone a hybrid Escape.

The best way to tell if it's a Ford vehicle is to say ass before the vehicle name. If it's funny, then it's probably a Ford.

so, on top of that ur a ford basher.....wats funny is my fords have taken more abuse then any other vehicle ive ever owned and they kept on ticking

Back to the Prius rant

I always have asshole Prius owners that think their hybrids are race cars (not that hybrids can't make kickass race cars if done right) and try to race me to the next stop light. I have a hard time believing that they get great gas mileage at full throttle.

No, I'm not a Ford basher. I just have a good sense of humor.

I don't have a very high opinion of Ford cars, which is pretty much what the Escape is, but they do make a damn fine truck.

ooook, im just makin sure, and some ford cars(older ones) were unstoppable, but the junk they got now like the escape is a joke

I agree. A buddy of mine has been building up a '68 Mustang for roughly the last 15 years. It's pretty sweet.

Not only can you get NiMH batteries that are sealed, you can get sealed lead acid batteries. They're made for lighting emergency lights on aircraft. Generally venting hydrogen gas into an aircraft compartment isn't a good idea. Neither is spilling acid onto an airframe.

I guess you didn't read their MSDS sheet did you? Specifically in Section V - Reactivity Data. I quote "Conditions to Avoid: Avoid shorting. Avoid over-charging. Use only approved charging methods. Do not charge in gas tight containers.".

So yes I DO know what the hell I'm talking about. Cells cannot be 100% sealed with no venting capabilities (on earth at least, LOL). It takes 2 or more cells to make up a battery (just for those who have no clue, eh, Jason?)

Back on topic now, one thing those hybrids have is some fantastic torque in a relatively light package. They can get up and go pretty quick, mind you it's pretty hard on the battery charge life. LOL

I would like to test drive a Hybrid Escape and see how it compares to the regular V6 versions my dad has owned.

Eh Jason? Is that Canadian slang? I am telling you what is obvious to anyone that has ever even seen a Prius battery pack. I can tell that almost none of you involved in this thread have any experience with the Prius other than complaining about them and stereotyping the owners. In fact, it isn't the Prius so much as it seems to be Toyota in general. If it is about Toyota here, it's a bashing thread. It's ok though as I am sure that's just the result of the unbiased, educated minds that get into those discussions.

did u know, when u stick ur hand out the window on a prius...the vehicle will actually turnnnn

lmao.... Good One M !!! :icon_cheers:

I'm amazed people here in E. Ky. buy a Prius where it's up and down hill almost everywhere you go. I wonder if they would tell me the truth a bout what mileage they get if i ask one. I'd take a Focus 2 door manual at 35-40mpg anyday.

see, all u do is bash the people here, so i wonder.....at that point who seems to be the uneducated one?

i really do not think u have read anything on here we arent bashing the prius, we are discussing the MAJORITY of the people that drive them, if u cant gather that with all ur "education" then u need not bother coming on here any longer.

and it is NOWHERE near a toyota bashing thread, i personally ahve owned more then a handfull of toyota trucks, and ill tell u pre 86 a toyota was the best truck out of the box in the world of small trucks, but like ford all toyotas have issues, its just a known fact.

the point is, if people would drive a prius like a normal car then everyone here would be happy

Thanks for you're exemplary spelling and use of the letter"u" in place of the word "you". "U" have proven my point and perhaps I need not come here anymore. I prefer a much more balanced group of adults. Too many rednecks and little boys here. Good day kid.

it's called shorthand brain child, if YOU'RE going to get all worked up about it, then by all means take urself to the toyota prius forums and discuss the joys of watching the perfect balance of gas mileage while pissing off everyone around u

Well, I can't say that I've read the MSDS, but they have an internal charger that is self regulating and is designed to have a constant +28 VDC going to it. Short of having some type of failure, this battery is not capable of being over charged. I'll be sure to check the MSDS, though.
