If you break out in hives, DO NOT BURN IT, friend did that to a patch of poison ivy... and it got into his lungs, just about killed him.

Uh, that's because it's poison ivy. It's been used for hundreds of years as a chemical attack during warfare.. make a big pile of it and light it when the enemy is near!

Or at least that's what I've been told.

I'm surprised your friend actually thought burning poison ivy would be a good idea.

sounds like a smart guy. poison ivy is tough to get rid of, we have some in our back yard that we tried getting rid of a dozen plus times and it still grows.


Honestly I would get a tyvec suite and have at it with a chain saw, roots and all.

I don't know if it would work with a cactus but I would try that. It works for just about everything I throw it on.

I didn't think of this yesterday, but I use a really cheap weed killer. Bleach. I put bleach in my sprayer and apply it and they seriously look like hell in an hour. I just applied it to some weeds and my neighbors vine and it's even killing the vine. Might work on a cactus too.

BTW, it kills grass too. So don't use it for weeds in the lawn. I use it for the weeds in my driveway and the stragglers in my gravel.
