TRS Banner Across North America 2012 - Alaska to Key West Florida (OFFICIAL)

I'd sure like to make the trip up to Whitehorse, but it's the time more than the miles (or kilometers as us Canuckleheads must say). Vacation time is hard to come by in summer. 700 K return can be done in a weekend.

I think there are a few members in Terrace, SasquatchRyda for sure. I am heading for Hope BC in August. Could also feed it east to Prince George, or maybe Kamloops/Vernon/Kelowna sometime first week in August.

:woot: I sense a plan developing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got back from 5000K roadtrip to Manitoba.

Still up for Dease Lake, but I'd need some notice to arrange time off. I'm on 24 hr call when I'm working. I have territory from Prince Rupert to Endako in BC and I make Prince George frequently. Would be pretty cool to see this thing off to Haida Gwaii on the ferry, but would need someone to pick it up in Prince Rupert. MountainMike and Gwaii, check your PM's

i think GWAII is MIA on the forum, maybe someone with his number give him a call, or possibly smoke signals? though with gwaii, it might have to be exhaust smoke signals... :)

i HIGHLY recommend edmonton before the okanagan... though if it has to be, it has to be... i can probably pick it up from vancouver area and bring it back to alberta, but it would have to go from the okanagan, to calgary, to red deer, to edmonton, to everwhere around there, then back down through red deer to calgary, then south to montana...

might see if i can book a few more days off in september for my mom's wedding then... so i can drive instead of flying... i've got 50 hours banked at work, which translates to almost 2 weeks off...

ill contribute to the gas fund if itll help get this thing to alberta again

It cost you guys over 400 in gas for that trip? Man now I feel bad, I should have just sucked it up and driven... would have only been half that to drive the ranger...

If Jim O. sets up a Fuel Fund...throw in a few $$$ in it to help compenstate a percentage for those who spent the big bucks transporting the Banner....

anybody have an update on the next leg of the Banner trip???????????

Yep, we're just hashing things out right now but it should be moving right quick.

Yep, we're just hashing things out right now but it should be moving right quick.

Be safe....you guys....and post some pics of the local purdy scenery up there while your hashing....just no swamps, flat land, & alligators please ;missingteeth;

Weezl, you haven't been subjected to nasty humidity until you've visited Houston in 102*F weather. You walk outside and are then instantly drenched in your own sweat.

Look, any contribution to the Fuel Fund, albeit $5 or $500, is worthy of being noticed. Every bit helps, and favorites do not have to be picked. What if another selfless student, not in the Banner's route, contributes to another student traveling that leg of the journey?

As far as payout goes, that's subjective. Personally, I feel that you pay to play. Texas is expansive, just after Alaska and Canada. So what? The transporters should not feel entitled to a certain % of the payout, just because they think $200 (USD) is too much to spend on gas. We can't all use the "woe is me" card just because we have to drive a bit farther than the next person.

You Canadians wanted to be involved. Well, look. You are now, and the Banner is in prime transporting season for y'all.

Hurry up and get your crap together.

Could y'all meet at Chicken's Neck Mountain, Stikine Region, BC?

That's 370 miles, ~8 hours drive one way. Camp there for a night, make a nice fishing weekend or whatever out of it with your wife, and head back. I've done it several times before in various weather conditions (not in Canada), snow included.

B-B-Bump........

any new pics for us while the plan is developing (or, are you guys just used to all the purdy scenery?)????

Hurry up and get your crap together.

I would say we do have our crap together, we're just working on requiring whole weekends to move this thing to one member. The gaps we are talking about here are huge. It'll be moving another 600km from me here next weekend.

And DG I'll have some pics for you soon:D
