before anyone asks why i'm starting another project when the gt lies waiting for attention, let me state that this one was started way,way before the triumph.

i'm just finally getting to the end run on this one.that's how my projects go sometimes.

Nine Minutes to Four.

Nine Minutes to Four.

Nine Minutes to Four.

i was given this some years ago,and at free,i wasn't sure if i'd gotten the better side of the deal.

well,i love a challenge.it was to be my first boat.

Nine Minutes to Four.

while it cleaned up ok,i didn't like the huge engine well and kick-up at the back,so it got some surgery lovin.

Nine Minutes to Four.

after rearranging some bits, the back was a bit more streamlined.now, about that orange color:dunno:

Nine Minutes to Four.

played around a bit and came up with a red i liked.that, with white on the hull made for a good combination.

Nine Minutes to Four.

i wasn't really excited about the original windshield,so when a guy offered me the old windshield from his bayliner after i'd made a new fiberglass hardtop for it,i thought i just may be able to make it work.

to make it fit i had to remove the center bar, increase the angle at the middle, and reshape the side panels.but, there it is.now i need to do more fiberglass work to blend it in.

Nine Minutes to Four.

some fabbin.....

Nine Minutes to Four.

and some gellin'

Nine Minutes to Four.

and the old girl's looking pretty good.

but,of course.....i'm not one to leave 'good enough' as good enough.

more to come.

It has come a long way Tom! Looks good, just like everything else you lay your hands on!

I snagged up another project myself too...another mustang

nice....but what about the other one?

btw....things get stupid with the boat, and after over 5 years i'm getting pretty close to it's maiden voyage.

The plan is to try and have this one ready for my wedding....we will see how that works out though. This one will be getting finished by a buddy of mine who is an autobody tech/painter. I've decided if I want to actually enjoy one of these cars I need help with it.

The other one...not sure on the direction I want to take with that one. Might end up with the big block under the hood, a roll cage and a couple seats if you get my dirft....

nuthin' wrong with another project.....we love your work/skills...

we just happy that you are posting once again!!!!

was way too long that we didn't hear from ya....just figured you were really busy...or working on something epic:D:icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

just really busy.nothing epic:sad:

so,after spending all that time reshaping the back of the boat,i cut it all out and threw it away.made it look like this instead:

Nine Minutes to Four.

why?well,i bought a cobra.

Nine Minutes to Four.

yup....an omc cobra.

Nine Minutes to Four.

i got a decent deal on the drivetrain from a guy's 27' boat as he wanted something else.you know the story.....now i've got this big engine, and i've got this little boat.the rest is history.

Nine Minutes to Four.

the engine that came with the setup was no raving monster, but it was a 351w,and i was most interested in all the marine goodies that bolt up to it.i have plenty of 351s,and put together a '96 roller block with gt40 heads and a performer rpm intake with a carter 650 carb.

should be able to push a 15' runabout ok.

short of a little plumbing on the cooling system it's ready to go,it's turn-key and all the controls are hooked up.i have some work to do on the floors and cosmetics to finish yet,but it should get it's maiden voyage some time next week.

Nine Minutes to Four.

the vintage mustang steering wheel gives the driver's position a bit of class

Nine Minutes to Four.

and all the hardware is new, stainless steel items, including these cool pop-up cleats.should look pretty sharp by the time it's all shined up.

btw....the name, while a little hokey, reflects the size of the engine.

Looks incredible man! cant wait to make my way up and take a peak

Oh wow. I have a buddy who would always text me at 3:27 to say "It's the best time in the world right now." I would rebut with "That was 25 minutes ago." He was doing his 327 swap into his 93 S10 at the time ;)

Who else figured this out before entering this thread????

<----- this guy did :headbang:

figured someone might....i've been calling the boat that in the little world inside my head for a couple years now.while this project never seemed to make priority for completion,i got sick and tired of looking at it nearly done.

for general use around here it'll be kinda impractical, but it should be fun.

i already have a practical one.
