okay, the other day, my spindle lock nut broke.... the inner nut pin broke off, then caused the washer to jump the keyed tab and stretched it out! :pissedoff:. so, by then ford was closed, it was saturday. called every parts store in area, no dice. autozone and advanced didnt even look for them, just said they didint have them. the second time to each store, i got someone to actually look, but they still said they couldnt get them. i dont know if they actually knew what i was talking about, but at least they looked. no avail at parts plus..... called napa, not in stock but they could have them for monday(today). so i didnt want to chance it with ford not having them, so i ordered them. got them at 6pm, after ford closed again, got them home, tried to put them on, the damn washer was too small(wouldnt fit over spindle threads) and the pin holes were not even close! and the inner lock not wouldnt thread all the way on, like it was bent or egg shaped.
does anyone know how much they are from ford, and if they are usually in stock? any part numbers? i definatly at least need the inner nut and washer. i would buy the WARN kit #37207, but does anyone know if it comes with the inner nut(the pinned one)????? that is the kit number i got from the ranger station tech threads. and would this be the correct kit for a 1995 ranger with manual hubs, 3liter, 4x4, with a dana 35? truck is down, so any help would be awesome!!!!

A few tips.

The holed washer can be bent back into shape with a hammer, care must be taken not to hit to hard or it will crack.

Also the nipple on the inner nut can be replaced. Punch the old one out and this is the bling part. If you have an old spicer 297 or 760 joint laying around the needle bearings are a perfect fit for the nipple hole.

Glad to see I ain't the only redneck here who has done that.

There's a good chance that they gave you the parts for a Dana 28.

D44's use the same thread size and some applications of D44 use the same nut setup.

The "non ratcheting" setup used on most full size fords is a direct fit.

The nuts used on chevy's will also work but the washer will have four taps on the OD of the washer that will need to be ground off.

FWIW I carry a set of spares in the storage box that took the place of my drivers side jumpseat.
