finally changed the driver's side caliper-retaining pins & anti-rattle clip!

I should have changed em 15 headaches ago............

annnnnnnnnnnd another thang....I know can remove the 4 barel in less than 5 minutes!

as soon as i can afford a phone with more than 30 seconds of memory...i'll post a vid.

Well....I have the h.p. I need with the V8...now i need the elusive gas mileage.

Here's the 600cfm Holley 4 barrel...

I removed the electric choke & the vacum switch from the secondarys/and disassembled the carb.....

The FedEx guy just showed up with my new gaskets, carb bracket, book...

just in time......

the secondary metering plate main jet holes get plugged with siver solder and drilled to a smaller size.....

the modified plate gets reinstalled......

the primary jets got soldered shut & redrilled to a smaller size also...

The butterflys get a .060 hole in each one to lean out the idle--it always idles so rich that it puffed smoke rings....

I connected the secondarys to the accelerator arm using the original linkage since they're not vacuum operated any more (yeah....I know I wasn't supposed to do that mod).....

There....I sawed off the air horn & the choke plate for a streamlined look or better air flow now that I'll be using all four barrels at the same time (yeah--I know you're not supposed to do that).......

I used a vacuum gauge to reset the carb after I bolted it back on...the truck runs like a scalded hyenna now (like they said--there's a slight bog if its floored...but I don't need to floor it with all 4 barrels working together!)

Now to go fill it up and check the gas mileage......


ATTENTION: I DISCOVERED THAT I DRILLED THE HOLES IN THE PRIMARY BUTTERFLYS 180* FROM WHERE THEY SHOULD BE LOCATED/BUT I DID DRILL EM RIGHT IN THE SECONDARYS! HENCE: JUST PLAIN STUPIeD!
.................IN POST 3441, I CORRECTED THE MED INDUCED DAMGE....ERRRR.....DAMAGE.

My youngest daughter (now growed up) just decided to get a traing collar for her dog....errr....training shock collar. Well(P)...she wanted to make sure the collar wouldn't hurt the dog too much (yes---she DID)...so she puts the collar on her next and yaps.....nothing happened

so she yaps a little louder.......


ZAP!

so then she screams from the unexpected zap.....

so...........by the 3rd................

she manages to get the collar off and slings it across the room....
