Kroussin 93 Explorer build

well here is what i gathered from the fj80 liberty thing.

It started life as a fj80 fully loaded and was in a front end impact rollover accident. this guy ended up with it one way or another (or it was his to begin with IDK) and started spending an insane amount of time with it.

it is running yota axles front and rear that apear to be built tot the hilt. the motor was either swaped in or special order cuz he was makin a BIG deal about it (im not a yota guy so it was giberish to me) aparently it is pretty much a "big block" supra motor. all i can tell you is it reved to the sky and sounded SICK. this was his 3rd run with the truck and first with the new beadlocks and boggers. the front end work was awome and he did an awsome job on that however the half cab part was good but not nearly as good. lots of flat time with visable seams (ground down but visable). the thing walked alot of places early in the day at idle as time rolled on he started lettin the horses out and this thing ripped. it definately kept up with a couple of the more well built rigs and wasnt far behind the tube chassis comp rigs that showed up. the non-jeep tube buggy is 100% race preped and is said to be runing KOH 2013. he aparently allready holds several podium finishes in some comps in the midwest. but its all hearsay.

so here are a couple of the other pics i have of the land liberty thingy

and one of the other rigs that showed up.
it was BIG LOUD and SLLOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!
not every day you see one of these out on the trails. kinda a wierd array of vehicles that showed up to say the least. i think the only thing missing was a trar.

needless to say he didnt make it across

Okay now I want to move up to your neck of the woods even more.

just another day in the woods hahaha.

if your refering to the trucks its not every day that we wheel with this scope of vehicles.
if your refering to the trails. this is a public rec area that is maybe 15 miles from home.

there are plenty of jobs in the area if you are open minded and have drive. people looking for work in a specific field seem to have a little more trouble.

today the temp went from the mid 50's and rain to below freezing and snow in the matter of a couple hours so i made no progress on figuring out the running issue. did take it for a run between 8-10 miles and its still runnin odd but if you drive like a sane persone in the snow it never skips a beat and has plenty of power. once you get stab the gas to the floor it starts missing an rpms cap off around 3500. yet if you accelerate hard yet gradually bring it up to WOT if does just fine. kinda strange. it is running better and better it seems.

Well, around here there is nothing but fields and fields... If I want to do any wheeling I have to drive a couple hours.

Sounds like a sensor issue. Maybe the map? Egr? Something along those lines. Maybe water around the coil pack as well. Is it hard to start?

I want that jeyota...

no egr. i think the first step (once i actually do somthing) will be to pull off the throttle position sensor. and then attack the mass air again. i cleaned it very quickly and am sure its not as clean as it could be. after i did the cleaning it did run slightly better so i think i must hav had some affect on it. but like i said its really only affecting WOT and snap throttle

Fuel pressure? How old are the filters (air and fuel)? Possibly out of time?

air filter was a K&N. now has a paper filter until i sum up the motivation to clean it. fuel filter was new as of a month or two ago. i highly suspect a dirty sensor as it was as it started running rough after splashing thru a big hole. havent really dug into it too much as it only acts up when i tromp on it hard. i can take off moderately hard from a stop light and not have it act up. so ive just been driving it. all the vitals are good and no CEL. so i will look into it once its in the garage.

ive been slackin big time on the page here.

truck is just truggin allong. gonna pull it in the garage tonight which is a process due to the the height of it. but i plan on doing some serious cleaning. rearranging of some cargo stuff. starting on the OBA. and possiably a tire carrier. garage has been occupied or the past few weeks by trucks that dont belong to me but i got voted the place to fix/build them at.

reworked the rear suspension and unibody of a wj due salt damage. thing is probably still gonna break in half but at least the rear axle connected to the truck again.yes this is the same jeep that broke his front axle in half last year

other project that is still in progress and will be for quite some time due to the amount of planed work.
it is a good solid platform just needs alot of work to make it wheel the way he wants.

and here is why the truck needs a good cleaning. this trail was a blast but i wont be running it any time soon. the last section of mud is 2-3 hundred yards long and gets worse and worse as you go. the last hole was over bumper deep and was thick mud. minimal water. after winching out of the last hole mud piled up on the bumper and the winch was not visable neither were the lights. only have pictures from the first 50-75 yards as after that it was game on no more playing around.

I think you need some lockers.

Other then that looks like fun.

think again hahaha runnin a grizzly locker in the rear and I allready go thru enough front end parts without it being locked up front.

drivability issue is also solved cleaned all the sensors in the intake

Sounds like you need to get stronger front end parts or a stronger front end.
