My Son rolled his Ranger.

My dad would probably punch me in the face, and keep the insurance money on it. Then I would be on my own to buy another one, which means I would be riding my bike.

My dad would not have physically harmed me.....the glare of disappointment and head shake as he walked away would have scarred me enough to NOt be that dumb again.

My dad would have called me an idiot after he knew I was ok... He sure wouldn't be fixing it for me, though I think he's seen my truck twice, maybe 3 times, and driven it once... It's my truck, I bought and paid for it with my own money, not my daddy's

Sent from somewhere naughty!

same here.... i think after he knew i was ok, my dad would have laughed and called me a dumbass, but he didn't pay for it, i did. so it would have been all me after that

number 1 reason not to do stupid things like whip donuts in a field....

you seem like you're taking this well. if i rolled my truck, my dad would disown me.
Yeah...well...the kid is alright. A $500.00 truck can be repaired/replaced
just because i'm in slightly a trolly mood...

have you ever heard of the darwin awards?
I have, and Tom Slick here would be a nominee this year.:thefinger:
I had a pair of girls they are easier on cars.
Sometimes:D
You must be so proud :icon_cheers:
I see what you're trying to do here.

He earned that truck, by working for his grandfather last summer. Just because I'm helping doesn't mean I'm buying

You got that ish right.

tom slick? is that supposed to be some kind of insult?

it seems to me that the last person who posted a thread about doing doughnuts and the carnage that ensued, on this forum, in the last 2 weeks? isn't on this forum any more due to the resulting education about how people who actually use their 4x4 trucks, and rangers are trying to change the perception of the public from rednecks who go and tear up mud pits, to people who are enthusiasts about a motorsport, that when done right can be a gentleman's sport...

at least you, and your son aren't stupid enough to post a video of this on youtube, which was really the biggest downfall of the last guy... i'm sure you can find it through a search of the site, he removed the link to the video, but the video still remains on youtube

once the other kid realized that we don't condone reckless behavior on this site, as we actually ARE enthusiasts who don't just go out trying to destroy things (the land, vehicles, ourselves) and he hasn't bothered to post anything else since the day before his thread about his truck catching on fire while doing a burnout, got locked by the admin

well, for one, rolling your vehicle and making the general public look at you and think, "wow this guy is a redneck doing this in a field, we should discourage this by shutting down OHV parks, impose tarraffs on any vehicle with selectable 4wd, and any tires taller than 28""

don't think the plight of society can do this? go take a look at any 80's motorcycle thats classified as a 1000cc bike, (61cui) take a look at it, guaranteed it says a number on the engine that's not 1000... my virago xv1000 is 981cc because there was a tarraff on any bike with 1000cc's or more due to harley losing market share to metric cruisers...

that's also why up until a few years ago, you couldn't get anything but a domestic bike larger than 9xxcc...

This is a free country, if someone owns a hunk of ground as long as it isn't illegal they are free to do on it as they please. That is the whole point of owning ground. I know people that have dirt bike practice tracks set up in their back yard, should they not do that either? What does a cookie really hurt? (assuming you don't roll)

There are far more cookies spun in parking lots than fields and they sure are not tarrifing FWD cars with a lever style parking brake. And that is usually legally trespassing.

You can roll your vehicle and burn down the forest playing nice on a trail too... or even on the street. I have seen lots of vehicles destroyed on here that were doing everything "proper" A bump here, a nudge there and a tad too much dumb luck here and over she goes...

Woah! Simmer down now...Don't you know who Tom Slick is? Around here he's a guy who's always trying to win a race, but his drag racer car is always breaking down for one stupid reason or another. think early 1980's Saturday morning cartoons. Tom Slick in this case would be my son who wrecked his truck.

As far as a "field" goes and "tearing it up" I guess I should have noted that the field in this case is private property and he has permission to run his truck around that field. Due to the fact that the field is owned by a family friend.BTW one pass with the land plane and this precious natural resource of a privately owned field is as flat as it ever was. I suppose I should have stated that in the first post.

If I get kicked off of a privately owned and operated internet forum, I'm pretty sure that I'll make it in life. So if the admin feels the need to toss my account. I'll be expecting the message any day now.:shok:

yeah, i know you CAN! that's not what i said, i said it counter acts what people have been working towards...

i can sit in my back yard naked, smearing fecies all overmyself, while drinking purple lemonaid and listening to queen's fat bottom girl's all day long too, if i wanted... but what would that say about society? Cops could take every break they get at a doughnut shop, but they shouldn't, it's all about perception... personally, i don't like being judged when i tell people that i have a 4x4... because i get lumped into the same category as the hill billies that leave beer cans and burnt up cars everywhere they go... i wash and wax my ranger, i take good care of it... my ranger (knock on wood) doesn't have a single real dent on it (tailgate from a broken strap, and an arrant high lift, 2 separate incidents) i sure don't like being looked at like i'm a murderer when i tell people i ride a motorcycle... i don't like getting looked at in job interviews like i'm some punk because i've got tattoos, so i don't have them in places that are visible in a suit... i've got a 3/4 sleeve, but unless i want you to see it, you never will... i've got about 15 hours worth of tattoo work in several places, and because of perception, I can get a job absolutely anywhere... my ears are also stretched to a 2 gauge, yet, because of the way i stretched them, i can take them out, and in about 36 hours, you can barely even tell that my ears are pierced...

so why do i take it personally when people take 4x4ing back to the boonies of louisianna? (sorry DG) because i'm not some redneck hick telling people to squeal like a pig for me, and i don't want people to look at others in this sport that way... the only way to change that is by changing the face of the sport... the way to do that is by not posting videos of people doing a 5 minute burn out resulting in a ranger on fire, on youtube, and not posting about how my son is such a funny guy, he rolled his ranger twice and a half for driving like a darwin candidate, and now i'm going to help him re-build it so he can do it again...
