I already retired....no big deal, Bro. Same old thing everyday. Get up, feed the wild ones, take a dirt bike out, come back, get coffee and a bagle, watch the news, go to the mall and have a walk about, go to lunch, go back home, feed the wild ones, make a cup of coffee, watch the news, get the Wrangler ready for the next outing, call family and friends to chat and they always ask me what I do every day!!!!! Some days I get to sleep in until 6:00....

then I feel like I need to hurry to get up, feed the wild ones, take a dirt bike out, come back, get coffee and a bagle, watch the news, go to the mall and have a walk about, go to lunch, go back home, feed the wild ones, make a cup of coffee, watch the news, get the Wrangler ready for the next outing, call family and friends to chat and they always ask me what I do every day!!!!! Some days I get to sleep in until 6:00....then I feel like I get the feeling, Bro

Thanks all! The plan is to relocate to Dallas TX and start round 2, or is it 3, of my life story. The in-laws gave my wife (only child) a house and land there and since I'm married to her I get to live there too! Looking at jobs in the aerospace industry as that is what I have done for all these years, maintianed/repaired F-16 Fighting Falcons. Also looking into repair technician jobs as that is in my experience sphere too.

Straycat, while that sounds nice I know myself and that would drive me nuts after about a week. I learned early on in life I m no good at doing repetative routines and I HAVE to do things as I'm the type that can't sit still for more than 5 minutes. My wife hates it when I take leave to just spend around the house because I drive her crazy with ideas/plans/options etc. Sadly even on the weekends I am up by 0700.....

congrats, and thank you. howd you like eilson? i was stationed at Wainwright for 3 years, (about 12 miles away) and did quite a bit of training in the YTA off the back of your base. great place to wheel. but what do you think of it?

Haaa haaa, there is more to that guys. Life is what you want to do with it. I still do the shopping, dishes, laundry. My wife has over 25 years as a school teacher and willl have to work for 30-35 years to get a nice retirement (thanks to Gov dick the Rick Scott). The summer is great for us when the wife is off. We get to go to more places and have fun. I would not trade my days with anyone. I always have fun every day. I have lots to do and friends to visit who have weird days off.

Mud Junky, I LOVE it here but the wife and kids, not so much. And I must say the winter is hard on us and my machines, though I'm not sure what the Texas heat is going to do to us either........

Well congrats for sure! Join the retired crew, always something to catch up on or finish. I pulled the plug in my civilian jobs after 40+ years. Liked what I was doing but manament got worse, mostly caused by corportate. Off for a month and they had me back on contract another six months at 50% more pay. I had actually given them six months to train my replacement.
Winter does suck but can't imagine the heat this Summer down in the Dallas area.

Had my last haircut!!!!

That time has fianlly come. Got my last haircut on Monday, wore my fancy blues uniform for the last time as well. Friday is my last day as a contributing member of the military. Won't be leaving Alaska untill June 2nd or so. Waiting for the kids to get out of school before the big move. Looking good to have a job at an avionics repair station in Dallas so our future looks secure, thanks indeed to God. Later all!

One thing I loved about being in the Navy...we could have beards. The Coast Guard as well. I loved that!!!
