Escape woes

We are also experiencing some weird tyranny shifting when its cold. It will shift a but hard from 1st to 2nd and have a weird little flare between 2nd and 3rd, but seems to go away when the weather is warm.

That's weird our 2005 Ranger 2.3L Auto NAPA delivery truck has the same 2-3 flare up on it and it never fails. The 2-3 shift under moderate to heavy throttle flares up on that shift.

My mom drives an '07 escape (2.3, 5 speed) and doesn't take care of it at all, and there has yet to be any problems with it (knock on wood). With the rust thing however, my dad's F350 has a major rust problem on the side of the beds, and they wouldn't fix it because he was like two months over the warranty, that almost prevented him from buying Ford again.

Meh, everything rusts, the door bottoms, rockers, and tailgate on my bosses 07 gmc 2500 are going, we've fixed it once, but its just gonna keep doing it. I used to work at a dodge dealer for a while and we were doing bedsides and doors left and right as well. Wish i could say ziebart would help, but they really dont do a good enough job, i prefer to rustproof my own stuff, i know where to put it, but i never see the vehicles again to know if it worked or not.
