No, its a rainy weather problem if anything, that blue truck spent a portion if its life in florida, it had serious rust issues in the roof and pillar areas as well. Its just a design flaw with the first/second gen body style.
The rain gutters direct the water to run down the side of the windshield and right down into the cowl, the water eventually penetrates the seams and just rots it out.

My rainwater drains are located on the passenger and driver side, and drain nicely into the floor.
