When i first seen this pic, i hadn't read anything yet, and was like, "Oh this mutha just picked up some AEVs." I was ABOUT to bow down to you, but then i read it. Saved me.

As far as price. Id say 600 shipped is a good price for those. They wear really well. I have had plenty of friends run them on JKs and they do great, as long as you keep rotating them. Usually about 2500 miles, is a good time to rotate them.

Hope that helps bud. Have fun in Norway.

My wheels are equally as ballin :D

As for price, i hate haggling. I was plannin on offering percentage of tread times the price new, shipped. The cheapest i found online was 350 per tire. Soo, 50% tread would be 700 bucks - shipped to my door. Tires are stupid expensive.

I haven't sent an offer yet. He said they've got ~20k miles on em.

Theyre on his DD so i'm sure they're still pretty new.

I'm not sure what ya mean Kyle. I'll run whatever tires i get till they're bald. Too much of a hassle to mount/balance all the time. I'll probably stick with 37's for a while too. Bigger tires = tons.

treadwrights.com...
retreads, yes... but they have preformed flawlessly for MANY MANY people. several jeep guys have them locally on DD's and they work great.

No 37s in a good rim size.

You answered my question. I was asking if this was gonna be the tire you are sticking with for a while. If that Is the case, just buy new, then if you happen to switch to tons or something, you can resell em.

As far as retreads go, didn't we cover that just a page or 2 back? As far as I am concerned, on a dd, fine, on a trial rig, no way.

yeah think so... sorry boss.. :D:thefinger:

tires are just way HIGH... even the 33" at's i have now are like $260 a tire :icon_surprised::icon_confused: but i got them for $200 plus my old tires... :icon_bounceblue:

Yeah rubber prices have jumped quite a bit over the past couple years.

I guess what I'm getting at is buying new vs used; I essentially expect to pay the same amount for what tread is left. So a 50% tire will cost me 50% as much money, but I'll only get 50% of the life out of it.

That being said, I only have that tire half as long as I would new, and I could decide if I like that tire or not for my next purchase.

Almost 1600 bucks is a big chunk of change especially after what I just spent on wheels. I was hoping to find a near new set for around 1000 bucks. I think these that I'm looking at now are a bit more worn than I'd like.

.... So a 50% tire will cost me 50% as much money, but I'll only get 50% of the life out of it...

If it was a street tire only, sure, you could wear it down to the cords to get that last 50% out of it. But since this is an offroad situation, once those tires start dipping below 35-40%, performance will really start to suffer, especially when things get wet.

I feel you pain on the price of new tires though, that's why I went the cheap route of which I'm somewhat happy with the .mil tires. The rim size does suck though.

You do know that expensive tires are a big part of the reason people don't DD their wheeler :thefinger:

I'll sell you my 40's.

They're good and worn in, perfect for wheelin.

I need some 42" stickies.

sorry to thread jack for a minute. i seriously spent the past couple hours reading this entire thread. its inspiring and i congratulate you on all the progess. im hoping my rig will come out half as great. i just havent decided to build up my 88 or buy a newer body style. plus funding a project on min/+ wage doesnt work as planned. hoping my welding/pipefitting apprenticeship starts up soon. but thank you sir for all of the work you have been up to.

thank you sir for all of the work you have been up to.

Thank YOU for the compliments. I too started building my truck on a minimum wage income. It's possible, but takes a very long time. Fortunately, my life progressed as my truck progressed. It worked out well.

Sometimes I think back and can't believe how much work I've put into my truck. I know everyone else does the same. It's truly a labor of love. haha

Speaking of future modifications - I agreed on a price for a new set of 37" MTR's with a guy on Pirate and he sold them out from under me. So, I'm still in the market for new tires. My 35's have officially reached the wear bars.
