Look what I just bought at an estate sale over the week end. The person said they belonged to his dad who collected ford stuff, pretty cool huh?

I think it's from the early 90's ASSuming I am dating that Ford Ranger STX on the packaging correctly??

That pic is of '93 and newer Ranger:icon_thumby:

cool find i remeber my dad having a set of those on his ranger when i was a kid.

My grandpa had those and the matching floor mats on two of his F-150s.

I really miss that one truck. It was an 88 or 89, black, power everything, regular cab short bed twin tanked with the 300. He sold it to my 4th grade reading teacher in the mid 90s and bought another one of the same body with the same options.

We used to be a Ford family. :(

Yup, a modern day 3 window coupe. I would love to have your grandpa's truck

Function over form.

Really helped with my F-150's rock chucking. I was bajaing around in mud over the weekend deer hunting but you can't tell by looking at the truck unless you peer up into the front valance.

Straycat - you obviously do not live on a mud/gravel road.

Yes, I have before and still do have places like that where we live. I just hate the look of them. I see big rigs with those stupid flaps that still spray crap and rocks all over eveybody's cars and trucks and bikes. Tires pick up stuff and toss them around behind your ride so the flaps reall do not work that great.

But besides them not throwing as much on whoever is behind you, it keeps much of the crap off your own rocker panels and doors. Out here in the rust belt, anything that keeps dings (that turn into rust) to a minimum is a plus.

I live on a mud/gravel road that turns to crap any time moisture is applied.

I'd prefer NOT having to use them also, but they come with the territory. I wish I lived on pavement and somewhere I can keep my vehicles clean, but that's just not where I am.

Looks like the closest thing to muck and gravel you get into is sand... (by looking at your Jeep pic)

Nice find! My dad had a set of those on his 94. He came out one day and someone had modified the "e" in rest to a "u" with paint and a sharpie, so it said the best never rust. Ruined them. He took them off and threw them away.

What about your buddies? Do they like mudflaps? Their opinions are what matters in a crisis like this.
