My Bronco 2

I don't even know that it's the belt tho... I can't figure out why it's squeaking. I want intended on keeping the cheap belt. Just wanted to see if it stopped squeaking. One of my friends has a farm explorer that was gonna get the belt once I learned if it would fix it or not.. He is paying for the belt and wanting the cheapest option. Anyways none of that matters I JUST WANT THE SQUEAK STOPPED!

a little lps #2. one pully at a time while it's running and it'll give away which pully is making noise if it is a pully otherwise throw a belt on er

If the belt itself it squeaking, then it isn't the belt, it's the tensioner, it's broken or getting weak, I had the same problem, changed the belt, and still squeaked, and after changing the pulleys thinking it might be one of them, it turn out to be the tensioner, mine was getting week that it felt like the belt was tight enough, but wasn't.

Thats exacly what I was thinking the problem is.

I think I have another tensioner laying around here. Idk if itll be any better tho. I'll try that if needed. Thanks!

Could be some gunk on your pulleys causing it to slip too. Take a wire brush to them.

well the pulleys looked clean, cleaned them anyways... changed the belt. no squeaks yet... we'll see what happens.

i did find that my alternator pulley is eating away at my air tube... so... i've gotta repair the hole there.

it doesn't squeak... still.
the belts i'm using are "glazing".. turning real shiny on the flat side. idk..

now for some OLD pics... that i dont think i ever posted up.
i'm usually a good bit shorter than my truck...

found out quick that kelly trex all terrains didn't work to good in that place.. lol. that was a couple years ago.

mind you this is coming from somone that spends most of the time offroad playin in the mud and snow. and live in a large college town so I mean no offense by the following

but if i saw i truck rollin around that looks as above I would be thinkin F'n college kid playin with his mall crawler. however at least you know what there is to know about your truck and most rbv's

we come across alot of slight to mild build trucks burried that are cramed full of college kids miles past where they shoulda turned back. and then most of the time spend countless hours getting them out turned around and back to a beaten path all just to be offered a partial case of beer. we do it cuz it's worth the entertainment.
dont know if you recall the pics of the subaru on my trucks page but they were some big city college kids that didnt realize that it still gets well below freezing up here in the spring time. and didnt realize that a stock subaru and stock cherokee didnt belong on a road marked "baraga way truck trail"

oh i know what it looks like.. but i honestly don't care what it LOOKS like lol. the 2 pics of my truck in my drive way are from where i recovered a fellow RBV owner that was stuck on some powerline trails, i stayed out of the major mud went around them so it was just puddles (which is what most will do just to make their trucks look muddy, i know...)
he gave me a 12 pack that he had in his cooler lol. i honestly don't care at all to "mud".. i'm not a fan of mud in the b2.. on atv's, i love it.. but in my truck i don't. and when it gets to be as shown above, its washed the next morning. it stays clean..

remember, my focus of this build is a trail capable daily driver. and my trail capable i don't mean as in major mud.. most mud i'll see is probably gonna be for access to and from where i hunt in the winter.. and snow? wtf is that??? we don't get snow in MS!

oh and the actual stuck pics, we were riding at night on some land of a friends (we had legal rights btw) and i got off the trail slightly since it was grown up and i hit the soft spot.. needed better tires for sure. we weren't even trying to mud that night. just do some trail riding... then it started raining. no big deal we thought, till i hit that soft spot.

the last pic is after i got pulled out of the hole shown in the first 2 pics in the first post... after my truck sat in the rain overnight stuck, it was actually pretty clean.. but the f150 that pulled me out rooster-tailed mud all over me hahahaha

Legal rights what are those? up here if theres a road and no sign or no gate it's legal which is 99% of the roads of here.

and i'm sure a trail capable rig up here and a trail capable rig down there are two completely different things. there arent any "OFFROAD PARKS" or anything of that sorts just alot of ramdom gnarly trails and "truck trails" that are typically OLD loging roads that are just a mess to get down 75% of the time the other 25% there a good afternoon drive in a capable 4wd

agreed..

in MS, just so you konw... all private owned land here is private property. getting caught on it w/ no written permission is illegal, simple as that... i have lots of trails that are similar to the "logging roads" you speak of and we have some real nice trails to but its hit and miss of if we can ride there at a certain weekend... but regardless...

point being-- the b2 is being built for what i need it to do. simple as that.. and it can look like a mall crawler doing it. i'm ok w/ that.. lol
