Removing cab from chassis on a 1988 Ford Ranger.

No, that's the way to do head gaskets, turbo, and exhaust plumbing on the 6.4 and the exhaust manifolds on the 5.4.

Slide hammer is the approved tool for 5.4 3 valve spark plugs. The old 2 valve 5.4s don't need a tool or a procedure to remove the plugs. They come out on their own with normal driving.

If you are already doing brake lines, then go ahead and take them off at the master cylinder. If you don't want to have to bleed the brakes you can unbolt the MC from the booster and leave it with the chassis.

luckily the last week i was at the ford dealer the first 6.4l came in. glad i dont have to dick with those, popped the hood and it was instant facepalm moment.

in this case i suggest making the core support removable.

it will help later when you put the v8 in.:icon_thumby:

That's were the Ranger departs from the full-size. When you take the cab off a Ranger, you still have a front-end on it. When you take the cab off a fullsize, you just have a cab. Like these.

Depends what you mean by "fullsize"...if you're referring to an F-150 made within the last 30 years, they're unfortunately the same as a ranger in that department.

a drill bit and a handful of nuts bolts and washers will change all that

A big handful of hardware if you replace every spot weld with a bolt.

that's so for '97-up,but '96-80 the inner fender is part of the outer fender.when removed, there's just the cab left.
