The Android Appreciation Thread

Droid X. Love it..except for being dropped/busted a few times. Still works fine. I keep seeing someone mention the headunit control...this does work on android phones..atleast on my droid. I plug it in the usb on my headunit and the radio controls.

Bumping for some opinions. My Dell Streak 5 got kicked into a swimming pool yesterday so now I'm in need of a new phone.

So, new phone options:
LG Thrill 4g: 3d w/ 2 5mp cameras, 1ghz dual core processor, 4.3" screen (480x800, 16mil colors), 6 hours talk time/15 day standby battery life, 8gb internal memory, expandable to 32gb

Htc Inspire 4g: 8mp camera, mobile hotspot, dolby mobile surround sound, 4gb internal w/ external 8gb memory, 3 hour talk/15.5 day standby battery life

Motorola Atrix 4g: 5mp camera, 3d, mobile hot spot, 16:9 aspect ratio screen, 9 hour talk/10.4 day standby battery life, 4" screen.

both are priced the same since it won't be an upgrade, con's for each include limited battery life, bugs, freezing. Thoughts and opinions?

Samsungs galaxy s 2 line is out. Just fyi. I've been using a samsung of one flavor or another for about 5years now. Their screens are truly amazing, the phones are thin, light, very capable, and pretty durable. Mine gets dropped, stepped on, sat on, run over about every other day. While its not waterproof, water doesn't seem to bother it much. As far as capability goes, mine has yet to disapoint. It does exactly what i want it to when i want it to. Its faster than htcs and iphones i've used.

Just got the Casio Commando a couple weeks ago. I broke my last phone in half when I tried to get my water truck back in gear while talking to a customer oops. It was a motorola droid that I loved and the casio seems to run basically the same hardware as my droid while being tougher so I got it. Even though professional reviews say it's got old technology in a new phone, it's heavy, and has small screen it's a little faster, a little lighter, and the screens a little bigger than my droid was lol. Win for me cause I don't need every whizz-bang faster than light feature I can get. I use google navigation and browse the web and thats about it so it's about perfect. Already dropped it into about 6" of water and it didn't phase it. I'm kinda mean to my phones so maybe this one will last. only two complaints, it just updated to android 2.3 (gingerbread?) which is cool but the bar at the top of the screen is now black and everything (info, battery, signal, etc.) displays in a green color which is not very clear making it hard to tell signal and battery Also the danged keyboard is sometimes way off. Occasionally impossible to hit the letter you want, it'll hit every letter except the one you want tapping in the exact same place and I don't even have sausage fingers.....(Oh plus the crap load of apps I'll never use that constantly run in BG I'll never use and can't delete) Otherwise I LOVE android and I'm quite happy with the new phone.

My Evo 4G has been restarting like it's life depends on it the past week or so and am getting rid of it. Been really frusturating.

I just picked up a Galaxy S II and love it if anyone else is looking for a new phone. I had an iPhone 3g, iPhone 4, then I switched to android and got a Captivate now the SGSII. This phone is sweet. I will never go back to iPhone. I like being able to tweak it and kinda mod it like I would a car.

i have tried a couple android phones w/ the usb cable on my headunit and it doesn't work...???? maybe i'm doing it wrong.

i think iv tried to do mine but it wont work either... idk why it wont mount as external storage.

Most likely because it's not really just an external drive, even windows wouldn't plug and play that way for my phone, it requires a driver and then the phone has to be told to mount the SD card for the PC to read it.
