I know that I'm gonna need to run my Co ax cable from the antenna to the CB so what's the best day to get it into the cab? Doors jam? Or drill a hole somewhere Anne put a rubber gromit in there to seal it off from water?

My era of Ranger has a grommet in the floor right below your feet when you're sitting in the truck... So that's where I ran mine through.

I didn't see one so maybe ill have to run it through the firewall but that's alot of wire.

Lol I have a ahole already in the firewall that is already there just need to run to radioshack and get the Co ax.

Mine has grommets in the rear cab floor behind the seats. I cut a hole with an Xacto knife and ran the coax cable through there.

RG-58U cable is fine for CB (<30 MHz) IF it has a good-quality shield braid (or a 100% foil wrap). There's literally tons of crap 58U cables that don't have this however (Radio Shack's garbage is probably the absolute worst these days :no2: ), your chances of getting a good quality cable are much better if you stick with RG8X or 8M cable (which will almost universally have a foamed center insulation too, which is also better).

rg8x gets my vote.. i don't use 58u.. had to many coax issues in the past..

please for the love of your CB dont go to rat shack, find a truck stop or CB shop that has the rg8 and not mini 8 (rg8x) ....... i know all my rat shack has is crap for coax

I hope you also know about setting your SWR so you dont fry your radio, if not ask, ill post up what you need to know

edit: mini 8 will be ok IF you are not running a linear (amp)

Can I just get the cable at any CB store? Or would it be best to just bring in my antenna in and have them hook everything up?
