can I use MAF cleaner to clean my TB?

What's up guys. I need to clean my throttle body and I don't have any TB cleaner/carb cleaner around, just some MAF cleaner. Just wondering if I can save myself a trip to the parts store and $5, or does it have to be TB cleaner. Thanks.

You could use it, but it probably won't be as effective since it isn't as harsh. Brake cleaner will do the trick too if you have any.

yea brake cleaner would work better But if it its that dirty taking it off and giving it a good scrub would probably work best lol.

The MAF and the 2.9's bulb style IAT sensors are about the only things you can't use brake cleaner on.

Plastics and fabrics don't always like it either.

No prob try and get behind the butterfly its usually pretty crusty back there. A socket extension to hold it open works good lol.
