Bosch Platinum +4 or Motorcraft Oem Replacement?

My oems? idk what kind they are.
i know my moms 03 uses iridium spark plugs.

buying 8 bosch ones will eat my wallet tho hahaha

my engine ate holes in the white tips of the bosch 4's in less then 5k miles......I got misfires on 2 of the cylinders.......I replaced them with autolite dp's.......they have been fine for about 20k so far........

Pinging? Is that the left half of ponging?

Now that you mention it though...I've definitely got a game of something going on under my hood...good thing I'm mostly deaf...that noise would drive me nuts otherwise...oh, wait, maybe I am nuts...

If I said what it sounds like, it would be a metal rattling noise. I was royal pain to trace since it did not sound like a knock or pre-detetion.

The factory plugs might have been coppers. The replacement OEM plugs will be plats.

Copper? For real? Hmmmm, maybe I was lied to?

The guy at the Ford Parts Counter told me anything with a coil pack or COP had at least platinum because copper would "burn up" the coil.

I'm guessing this is wrong?

Probably trying to make a sale.....

My friends 2.3 Mustang made a noise that sounded like a couple BB's in coffee can. That car always had timing issues.

i run good ole autolite coppers in everything.

I've only used autolites and motor craft plugs in my 2.9. I'd say that you can't go wrong with those but I guess theres no harm in trying the Bosch's

I'm going to change all the sparkplugs in my 2,5 Ranger.
The old are Motorcraft AGSF 32FM (platinum), and they seem to be rather old.
Got hold of some new NGK TR55IX (platinum), as I can't get Motorcraft here in Norway...

can you get Autolites?

I've ran them all in my rigs and i have never really noticed any noticeable gains from using the +4 bosch's. I did however notice a difference in my 91 X using +2 bosch's... It made the 200k + mile 4.0 run and idle better, although not any power gain that i could notice. The +4's in the 4.0 seemed like there was no change in general performance between the +2 and the +4 so i just stick with the +2. The bronco deuce likes the Autolite plats the best.

I wish I took pictures of my Bosch 4's with pin holes in the white insulator tips after just 5k miles..........

I use Autolite double platinums in my truck. But with the reviews that I have read about the Autolite XPs, I'm really wanting to try those. They sound like good plugs.

That does happen sometimes...and I've been a bit thrown off by it because it almost sounds like my muffler...

Anyways, I was having mega issues with the carb when I tried different plugs and now that most of that has been corrected I might try throwing a set of the iridiums in there...that's what I have...thought they were platinums...if the noise goes away it might solve a few mysteries...

Thanks

Well since they are more expensive than the motorcraft ones, im not sure i want to try them, what if i have to spend more replacing them because they didnt work well on my truck.

about autolite: we tried those on my moms 93 2.3, and they were burnt really fast, like a year or so. so she went back to motorcraft.
since they work fine, why bother?

thanks for all the advice guys.

Thats what I thought too. So I clamped on 6 gaint hose clamps around the cat's heat sheild. Took it for a test, still there. The spark plug solution came to me as a "oh, what the heck" moments.
