My Bronco 2

I just relized I've never checked out your build thread. Looks like I got some catching up to do. How un-american of me to not check out the red, white and blue B2.

all good sir. i'll forgive you-- as long as you go thru and don't miss a single word.. starting at page 1. then you have to read the whole gt-12 projects build thread word for work! :icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

so what ya think? wanna send me some money to complete it? :D:icon_rofl:

Luckly I've already fallowed the whole Gt12 build up till the trans cover build after that is slowed down due to his other summer projects. Before you say read all the doorgunner build been there done that I'm the one who nominated him for truck of the month. If I had the money my SVT build would be done and I would own another ranger.

yeah, i'm just messing w/ ya anyways.. :icon_thumby:

but yeah-- tomorrow is payday which means ruffstuff order on link mounts and stuff.. then JY run Wednesday(hopefully) to get some more d30 stuff.

then in a couple weeks i'm gonna order my johnny joints and DOM.. gonna make my own. no point in building my custom sas around someone's out of the box kit... so... hopefully in about the next 3-4 weeks i have all the stuff i need. then i have july to do the swap.

birthday is coming up on june 4th. told everyone i wanted money so i can do my sas lol.. its funny when i say sas and people are like what?? :icon_confused::icon_confused::icon_confused: :icon_rofl:

LOL it took me awhile before I figured out what SAS was on here. Wanna here something even more funny I just found out what IMO stands for. Damn kids and there text lingo. LOL I still waiting on my 8.8 diff cover I won for the april give away still havn't recived it yet I just got ahold of Dan and he told me he rush me one out right away.

that ruffstuff cover is so dang heavy. its awesome. i have one myself. i love that thing..

Cool I'm looking forward to it I'm collecting all the parts I need to build me another ranger. I hoping to get one 2000 or newer. more like 2003 or newer. But I was pricing today and noticed for the price of a 2005 4x4 ranger I can get a 2005 SD FX4 with Powerstoke for the same price so why the hell not.

then get you a powerstroke!

I dont want to say that my longarms were "out of the box", I just didnt have the proper tools to make sure that both would be identical to eachother, etc.... plus didnt have the time either, winter was quickly on its way. Plus there was no way that I could have made what i had bought, mine have adjustments everywhere so that helped me alot when it came to getting everything lined up and squared.

i have found out that schedule 80 can be used.. and 2" square .25" wall can be used. i looked at a couple rigs this morning built w/ it.. and have seen where they have been wheeled.. it holds up. might be something i look into. idk yet. DOM is gonna cost me about $300 to do the arms. I talked to clyde and he builds a lot of his out of schedule 80.. and the upper could be solid 2 inch. then i could drill and tap it to accept the johnny joint and then i don't have to weld in the bung and all that jazz.

Mine are drilled and tapped and I will say that may be the best way to go with stuff, one less thing that can fail on you.

How long do you plan on going with your longarms...I made the mistake and didnt go back far enough on my frame mount so now my axle can now only be push forward. But I did do an axle push that gave me a couple of inches forward.

I will say put one heck of a good paint job of some kind on your longarms, mine are rusting and I need to get bed coating/under body spray on them, not that the rust is hurting it, just makes it look more like crap (just ignore the body on the truck, just dont have the heart to paint it).

I could of made mine but didnt have the resources nor have the time to make mine. Now if i had to do it all again from scratch. I would make my own. They would be longer so i wouldnt have to make a new transmission crossmember.

if i had to do it all over again knowing what i know now. i dont think i would change much. ive been happy with my arm's and happy to report that even with the michigan (u.p. at that) salt they havnt started rusting (yet) however i didnt drive it too awfuly much this winter.

I would like to state that i am about a pair of high steer knuckles away from wanting to go with leaf spring's instead of coil.
