Well I bought it.

Now to figure out how to build a decent frame with a 110V welder.

Find a good boat trailer, or something along those lines, a used cheap 6x8, or 8x10 trailer, and use it as the frame.

i need a gen1/2 long bed worse than hell. my 88 ranger is just a cab and chassis lol

Too bad mines a short bed lol.

that would be even better, id love to shorten her up into a short bed. wouldnt be hard to do donuts then with the v8 and short wheelbase lol

You can get a complete frame from the YPP in boro for $50....just get that, a 7.5" axle (with a mustang handbrake for a trailer parking brake) and your set to go...

I think I am just going to use my 8.8 if I dont sell it before then.

Yeah, forgot you had that...Although you could still sell the 8.8 then pick up a 7.5 and put a couple $$ in the trailer build fund :icon_thumby:

Dont really want to go through the trouble of getting a Ranger frame. Trying to figure out the cheapest/easiest way to build one that will hold up. I dont have anything to haul like a 4 wheeler so it wont need to be that strong, but I would like it to be just in case.

1. I still hae some tube laying here, but I can't bend it myself.
2. I could pick up some square tube, but I am not sure of the pricing on it.
3. I could use some 4x4 wood beams for the frame. This would be easiest IMO, but I dont know about the tongue.

3. :shok:

Thats what I am thinking. I'm afraid of the price though.

We have a metal recycling place down here that sells good but used material for 0.35 a pound...

i'm sure it will be cheaper than the rise in your insurance premium after the wooden frame falls apart on the highway and puts someone in the hospital. just something to think about

I've seen it done before, just without a bed on it.
