The Lone Ranger – Kage’s ’94 X-Cab Leaf SAS and Bed Bob

toyos still rub on mine. I ripped the drive side flare off in Moab, but i moved my axle forward a bit so im thinking that is why

yeah mine ripped the rear fender flare's off as well. however i dont think i could flare the factory fender's enought to gain clearance of the fullwith and wide tire's.

Aerostar Speedometer Cable Swap

Not much to say here, with the additional length of the doubler, the stock cable wouldn’t reach anymore. So it was suggested to use a cable from a 90’s Aerostar .

Side by side, the Aerostar cable is about 15" longer than the Extra Cab speedometer cable:

Rear Bump Stops

The rear bumps are using the same style of bump stop that I have in the front. These came from the rear of Isuzu Rodeo/Honda Passport’s.

I lopped off some ¼" Plate:

Burned it together:

And tacked it in place (Need to flex it out before burning them in all the way). As they sit, they’re about 5.5" above the spring plate:

Rear Shocks

The axle shock mounts came as a part of Ruff Stuff’s "Simple Dana 60/70" swap kit. I made the upper mounts using the same 2" tube I had in the front:

On the frame side, I used a piece of 2"x3"x1/4" wall tube to go across the frame rails. Here it is tacked on checking the mounting locations:

Burned home with some gussets:

Holy overkill on the shock mounts. That'll work though. Did you flex the rear to make sure your shocks have enough travel in that orientation?

Going by Tape measure, they should have enough travel. The truck is going to make the commute to work tomorrow or Friday so I'll get to flex it out and check everything over at that point.

Part of the reason for going as beefy as I did is that I'm lacking cross bracing in the rear. So this will help stiffen things up. The gusset also ties in behind where the bumpstops live, so that should help keep the frame from twisting in that spot when I hit the bumps.

i dont remember what its from but i have a favourite saying and thats "overkill is underrated" and i think its a good saying. gonna go on my windshield on the next truck

Overkill is always good...

it's only overkill if it doesnt break. i prefer to add an extra 5 pounds of steel to my ride rather than have it leave me stranded out in the middle of bumfuk

The nitto's must run a lil on the short side, which is a good thing here.....
I took a tape to the two that have the most meat on them (they're about 70% ish tread). It looks like they would have measured 36" when they were new. Seeing as these have about 25k miles on them when I bought them, I'm shocked they have as much meat left on them as they do.

I dig :icon_thumby: Part of my overkill is due to the fact that I raid the scrap bin at work for most of my steal. We tend to build heavy things there, hence the reason all of my accessories tend to be so bulky.

We'll see if I hit my target weight here or not...

that's nice you have access to all the extra steel. i work in the insurance industry, i only have an endless supply of manila folders and printer paper

I bet you could damn near build some shock mount's out of the endless supply of paper clip's and stapel tho.
