Project SVT

I never "just jump in the truck and go". Like i said, it takes me less than 5 minutes to pull the bed off and about the same to put it back on as long as i have another person there.

As far as the exo goes, I like the looks of my truck now, so i don't want to ruin it with covering everything up with tube.

To each their own though. I am not saying that everyone needs to follow my logic, just letting you guys know what I will be doing.

No pics, but I got some progress done, I got the tube pressed out of the knuckle, it took 12 tons of force to start it moving, and 9 tons to keep it moving...I'll be fabbing a press so I can press the knuckle back onto the 60, hope to have that done by friday :icon_thumby:

Here are some pics of the knuckle and my homemade axle tube press I made...

I know the lengths of the Jig I made are not equal, but I only plan to use this Jig once and then take it apart to use the material elsewhere, so I didn't cut any off the length to keep as much of it in tact (usable) as possible...

Yeah, since your truck is hogging the garage, I have to work outside! It's ok weather is ok for a change! :yahoo:
WCB2 frame turned into a sawhorse for a couple times yesterday. :dunno:

just glad to see some progress......FINALLY:D:D:D

Well, I got the C on the axletube today, had a little trouble with the Jig I made, but all in all I got it on....Now the bad news, I got to take it back off, well most of the way anyways. The angle is not where it needs to be, I think it turned when it was driven on, and I can't turn it with it all the way on the tube. So hopefully tomorrow I can get a little done on it, but will only have about an hour or so to work on it...Here are the pics from today :icon_thumby:

Interesting....Yesterday I was trying to figure how you were going to use the jig. Now I know.
Good job,

Richard

Thanks :icon_thumby: I really needed to anchor the axle housing down to a table or something, as it was moving laterally under pressure. when I started the C onto the tube, it went crooked, so I had to straighten it with the sledge. If I would have had it secured, it wouldn't have happened. But I got it done and it is the only time I will use this jig, so I'm not too worried about it...

you're doomed.

DOOMED! and you'll never get to know why lol

I not sure, But I think he means that your doomed in the fact that you will always have too many projects and not enough time, and most will always never be finished, I Think.

I think he was refering my decision to narrow a 60...

I also scored an 8274, but its too tall for my needs, so I'll be selling/trading it in the near future for a lo-pro one, like the XRC-8 or a warn...
