when is a door a jar?

No help with the problem but to keep the spirits high.
When is a meter not a meter?

When its on a boat.

Then its knotometer

on my '84 i took the plunger out of each door, cut the wires, and put them back in. when i want light inside, i just use the switch on the headlight knob. i did leave the one for the rear hatch though, since it worked fine.

yeah, that one's not funny, either. but hey i got the light fixed anyway, so it was good. oh, and my door is no longer a jar. it's knotajar! haha.

who knows. maybe its for when you're driving with a barely clicked door. its ajar rather than fully open.

This is exactly why. "Ajar" means "not entirely closed, yet not entirely open".

a·jar
1    /əˈdʒɑr/ Show Spelled[uh-jahr]
–adjective, adverb
neither entirely open nor entirely shut; partly open: The door was ajar.
