The aftermarket suspension companies didn’t have much love for the 1998-2011 Ford Ranger 4×4. Up until 2018, Superlift was the only company offering a bolt on suspension kit for the 1998-2011 Ford Ranger 4×4. Rough Country finally began offering a kit in 2018.

To Buy – Or Not Buy:
Many people choose to not buy the kit for two reasons:
- Torsion bars hang down and get in the way.
This Ford Ranger has a Superlift 4-inch suspension kit – you can see the torsion bar and mount hanging down below the door
Body Lift & Torsion Bar Crank:
It’s more common for 1998-2011 Ford Ranger 4×4 owners to install a 3-inch bodylift, and crank the front torsion bars to level the trucks stance. The Ranger at the top of this page actually uses a 3-inch body lift instead of a suspension lift.

1998-2000 Ford Ranger – Performance Accessories P/N 883 – 3 Inch Body Lift:
Some people crank their torsion bars, and some install replacement torsion keys. TRS has not formed an opinion as to whether or not torsion keys are any better than simply cranking on your factory keys. If you’ve gone from cranking your factory keys, to using aftermarket torsion keys to get the same amount of lift, please contact us and give us your feedback.

Long Wheel Travel Kit:
Your only other option for a suspension lift would be a Vegas Desert Fab kit (formerly Dixon Brothers). These kits use new control arms, axle shafts, and require coilovers (gets rid of the torsion bars).
The down side is that they increase the width by 4-1/2 inches on each side, but reportedly get 14-inch of wheel travel.
