Looking for info on upgrading my 84 Ranger steering column to a later Gen 1 column 86-88 with horn in steering wheel, wiper relay; etc. Other than wiring is this a direct replace and will a Bronco II column work. Thanx

a direct replacement?

Mechanically, yes, some minor wire splicing to make the horn work, but other than that...

While you are at it you might as wll go to a tilt wheel.

Bronco2 column? exactly the same as a Ranger column.

Any idea about swapping a column from a 90 Crown Vic into a 92 Ranger? I assume the Crown Vic, which has an AOD, would be a column shift potentially with tilt?

I ask because I am swapping the 5.0 and AOD from the Crown Vic into the 92 Ranger but the Ranger is a manual and I'd prefer to swap the column over rather than drop $250 on a Lokar / B&M Shifter. Tilt would also be nice since I am 6' 5" and the standard cab Ranger is a little tight.

Or am I better off trying to find a column from a truck that had an AOD?

How about a 92 F150 2WD Manual tilt column with cruise into a 92 Ranger 2WD Manual?

Anyone ever tried this before?
