So I have a '98 3.0 with a '94 manual xfer case attached. I'm looking for what year/combo driveshaft i can go with since it seems like my original wont fit. Both ends look as if they are the "T" attachments(best way i can describe them) . Or is there a way to fit my old on on there somehow, but i cant even figure out how to remove it from the old xfer case. Been trying to pry/hammer it off but no luck.

I just did the same swap and got a front driveshaft out of a 94 exploder. I couldn't get the old driveshaft to seperate from the electric one either.

Thanks a ton Sampson

so i know this is a decently old thread, but i just got around to picking up the explorer driveshaft. The axle side ended up being way off. Was correct length but the "t" peice is way too small. It fits but i can't drive it in 4 wheel drive over 15mph without it started to vibrate. Can anyone tell me if they shop gave me the wrong driveshaft or if any other are supposed to fit?

would be a great help if someone could let me know. I still couldn't come up with an answer anywhere.

it must be abalanced front driveshaft due to the liveaxle setup. Otherwise you could make one from 2x2 squarestock. absolutely no help whatsoever just wanted to share some of my useless knwledge

x2 sounds like it out of balance. It should have the double carden joint on one end.

ya obviously it wont be balanced because the joint is too small. what im trying to find out is if there is a driveshaft that should have the right joint.
