I have a '98 3.0 v6 ext cab. When I turn the switch to activate the 4wd, the corresponding dummy lights flash 6 times. The lights then stop for about 2 minutes or so, after which the cycle is repeated. Which part/s need replacing, how difficult and how much will it cost me? Thank you for the help!!!

You're gonna have to find someone to pull codes from the module to know which direction to go.

Steady, Aim...

First thing I do is shoot the dummy lights. Then get out of the truck and find out what is not working. The transfer case or hubs will narrow it down. Most common problem with the transfer case is the motor. Most common problem with the hubs is the vacuum controlled lockouts (black things hiding behind your front hubcaps). Then shoot them and quit relying on the computer BS. Just my opinion... Or research a bit here first. Most of this has been discussed until we're tired of looking at it.

Oh, forgot the cost - not much if you go to Wallmart's hunting section.
