Clutch Bleeding Question

It has to be a tight fit on the bleed tit and they vary in size so that's probably why it does not mention the size.

If you're putting in a new slave, then you'll probably be alright bleeding it based on the instructions in that article. If it's a new master, then you'll want to read this.

I've bled alot of these systems before and if whatever RBV master you're bleeding is setup the same as mine, then good luck. You'll never bleed the master the way that article says.

The problem lies in the fact that the master cylinder sits with the frontmost end pointing down when it's bolted on to the firewall. That's the same end where the fluid is pulled in, and where it's pushed out to the slave.

The air will always travel to the top of the master, which is towards the cab end where the plunger is. When you press in the clutch, the piston does not travel far enough down to push all of the air out the line. You can pump for hours, even days if you want, and it will never bleed, because some air will always stay in the master.

You need to get the nose of the master in the air. I've done it with the master unbolted and tilted up, but I found a better way last time.

Undo the quick disconnect, and attach the line to your new master. Bench bleed it with the line attached. Make sure the front of the master is in the air, and get someone to press in the little plastic piece on the quick disconnect as you press on the plunger.

I bled my last master this way, and after I bolted it in and attached the quick disconnect, I had perfect pedal and didn't even bother bleeding any further.

doesn't take long did it to mine when i was putting in the new engine/tranny/clutch kit.

I just watched that video. That guy knows what he's doing.

The only part that I disagree with is where he has the master hanging and just presses a bunch on the piston without letting any fluid out of the line. I can't see that working as well as just pressing in the button on the quick disconnect to do a more traditional bleed.
