rock sliders any one?

I got too thinking that i don't wanna bang up my pretty blue bii's underside... so who has some rock sliders on theirs? Did you make your own, if so how hard was it? Or did you buy them? how much? where at? thanks
 
I made mine. I bought 18' of 3/16" wall 2x2 tubing and used almost all of it. Haven't really got to try them out yet on anything but they will support a hi lift jack.

thats mine :-) bone stock, but that will change. she's an 86 with 80K original miles, garage kept, no rust :yahoo:
 
Yes they do. Probably not the best solution but it seems to work.
 
Most people weld or bolt them directly to the frame. I wasn't quite ready to go to town on my frame.
 
I would bolt them up not weld them, but that's me.

Mine are bolted up to the body mounts as well. The rear mount I widened up so it spans the whole width of the framerail making it a bit more sturdy.
Sliders are 2x3" tubing.

Quite possible... I originally used this method on my Ranger, which worked out extremely well (the rear Ranger cab mounts have that huge crossmember running between them, which made everything real rigid. The sliders deflected maybe a half inch at the most when jacked up with a Hi-Lift. My BII's sliders deflect about ¾" or so).
