My custom rock sliders are finally done. Built ‘em in my shop class at school. Made from 2x2 .120 wall square tubing and ¼” plate. Used gread 8 hardware and rustoleom paint. Enjoy
Drivers side mount (one single long plate running about 3 feet)
The frame is not parallel to the body, this proved to be the most difficult task.
There are cutouts for various plastic holders and holes for an electronic module's bolts.
Passenger side mounts (they are separate from each other)
Drivers side by fuel tank. Duct tape covered tab is welded to a nut and slipped up beyond where a wrench could go (to top bolt).
Notes for readers: drivers side was a total pain in the butt to rig up a way to mount them and drill holes b/c of fuel lines, brake lines, and electrical bundles not to mention all the wish-washer locations of everything else. And did i mention that the fuel tank is on the same side, yeah good luck. The passenger side was a breeze there is nothing running down that frame rail and the only thing in the way is the cat's....otherwise i can get a wrench on every nut on the backside of that framerail. Another probblem was that the framerails themselves are not strait and your mounts will have to be cut at angles so that the rock slider is parallel to the body....not very convenient to try and figure out where to cut.
