anyone help fast. i have a 94 ranger 2.3 and puttin a 95 2.3 motor in it and the harnesses are different.what should i do? the 95 top harness has a big connector which looks like it bolts to the firewall somewhere and my 94 doesnt and other plug ins and dpfe sensor locations are different. can i just take the head and intake manifold of and try to use it on my 94:icon_confused: thanks in advance

There are a couple other difference also. The two electrical systems are complety different. You can take all the harness and related parts from the 95 and change over,a lot of work. You can take the 94 system and put it on the 95.You have a difference in the alternator brackets and some of the sensors. The biggest thing is that you have to take the crank sensor from the 94 and drill the three holes in the block to install. This has to be percise. Some of the newer motor also have a built in regulator in the tank and have no return line.If you are not mechanically incline,I suggest you get a 93-94 motor and sell your 95 engine

i was puting a 91 motop into my sons 85 and there was so much differents that i ended up using the 91 block but even then there where a lot of things i had to do. the short story is that i used the 85 top end(head and intake and related parts). stillputting engine together if you check back later i will have a complete up date. do be careful if you drill the block for any reason some of the blocks have different webbing than others so where 1 block is thick another is thin BE CAREFUL

well most 1995 rangers are OBDII and 1994 is OBDI so there is differnecess in computers, connectors, and as previously said, crank sensor. its not a fun job at all.

When we drill the blocks we usually just drill right thur the casting to the inside and tap the hole all the way thur.Casting is only about 1/4-3/8ths right there so it is just as easy to drill thur.Make sure you have the pan off when you tap so that you can clean out the cuttings.Yes I know you can put grease on the tap but you just don't know.Done this swap several times and am now doing it with a 2.5
