It should. I was talking to 4.0B2 about two weeks ago asking about his setup and he said he used the 2.9 Y-pipe on his 4.0 swap.

Not that you need me to confirm it but any cologne engine Y-pipe will bolt to any
cologne engine with factory manifolds...
even a 4.0 SOHC Y-pipe bolts onto a 4.0OHV and thus also a 2.9...
I fixed a friends '85 BroncoII with a 2.8 by using a 190 4.0 Y-pipe and
an 89 Ranger (2.9) cat on it...
