Found this plug under the dash of my 1994 ranger xlt 3.0 that wasnt plugged in, so i plugged it in and it starting making the dinging sound when the door is open (it was open). My question is what else does this plug power? I just took it back off assuming the previous owner had a reason for doing it

Also my seats have power switches on them that never did anything?

Its just the door/key/dome light/seat belt/lights buzzer. PO probably unhooked it because it was acting funny (going off while driving) or was just annoying. The old ones I think before 98 when they changed to a better buzzer would fail after a while. Mine did and unhooked it but I was forever leaving my lights on and running down my battery. Went and bought a buzzer and wired it in to just the head lights for the warning. $5 fix. Part was like $40 for the new design.

I did a thread on it but here is a diagram on how its wired.
