I have a 2001 Mazda B2500 when I close the doors the dome light will not shut off. I have pulled the fuse for now but that is not gonna do me any good due to it makes wipers an all my others bells an buzzers stop workn as well. Anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this problem? An where are the shut off buttons on the door I cant seem to find them? Thanks for your help!!

The door ajar switches are in the door latches. You'll have to find which one is bad. It's a common problems.

Some times you can push on the doors and find out which one shuts the light off. I think there may be a write up on it in the tech library too.

Also until you get it fixed, pull the bulbs out of the dome lights instead of the fuse.

Also check the key detect on the ignition cylinder - that was my problem.

Not sure if the 01 dome light was updated or not, but the pre 98s at least connect with 3 screws. If you pull the rear screw you can use the maplights manually with the switch - just not the center one. Better than no dome lights IMO. Do it with the fuse out and then put it back in - that fuse is for more than just interior lights. On the 4x4 it controls the electronics for engaging / disengaging the front (don't ask me why...).

Yes, make sure the manual switch for the dome light is not ON.

The door switches are Grounds for the dome light, not 12v.
The Dome light will always have 12v at the bulb, it's when a ground is added that it lights up.
So when a door opens that Grounds the circuit and light comes on.

This is important in that if one of those Ground wires gets a bare spot and grounds to a metal part then light is always on :)

I'm having the opposite problem - my dome light won't light at all in my 2003 B2300. Which fuse were you pulling?

I've looked at all my fuses, and they all look intact.

Had the same issue on my 1998 B4000. When you open both doors you will see an angled rubber covered metal "tab" that moves slightly. Spray plenty of WD-40 into the openings of that.
Known issue on Rangers / B-Series.

Update - I put a can of WD-40 in the truck and sprayed the heck out of the latches with it pretty much every time I got into the cab. After about a week of that, my dome light problem and the problem with the warning "Dings" all went away.

I couldn't listen to radio with the key in "Accessory" position, because the truck always thought a door was open, at all times. When I finally got some light out of the dome light, it wouldn't go off.

I had to drive down the road with my dome light on until it timed out. Again, the truck thought a door was open while I was tooling down the highway.

Frequent squirting with WD-40 in the driver's side latch fixed me up after a week or two. I had no problem with the passenger-door, but after that worked on the driver's side, I gave it the same treatment for a week also, just in case!

I just squirted (thoroughly) right into the latch, since I couldn't see any good way to get to the mechanism without going into disassembling things.

That's how it's done. I use PB blaster, once a month when I detail my Sploder. My biggest problem is the latches in the liftgate. Once a month seems to be good enough, unless I drive a lot of gravel roads, or dry dusty fields.
