Figured I would say hello.. I am a 39 year old gear head in Kansas.
Just picked up two 1st gen rangers.
one is a 84 2.8 v6 5 speed 4x4
the other is a 87 2.9 v6 5 speed 4x4
I have owned 3 other rangers in the past..all 4 cyl, 2 wheel drive.
The 84 has a bad waterpump, but came with a new one in the box in the floorboard.
The 87 has a bad throwout bearing.
both run and drive, but they have sat awhile and need some TLC and fresh fuel.
The 84 has the sweet patina and the topper
the 87 is the grey one, with a headache rack and tool box.
Paid $1,100 for both ( $550 each) lol.
Looks like I need to start a build thread.
