Comments welcome.

you think under your hood is a mess... try adding forced induction (think slightly pressurized crank case) and a power steering pump that thinks it's fun to throw fluid out the front seal... If I did nothing about it I think it would take anything about 1000 years to rust about now, but I plan to clean it up this summer...

Ah... power steering ? your's actually works ?

Here's some more photo's of the REPLACEMENT trans that I got from the wreckers, GLAD, I decided to inspect it BEFORE I installed it

Take a GOOD look (trans itself looks in good shape.....).

You sir, have a problem. At least it is easily fixed.

True,

Hey, your "12 volt Sandwich"... says "not authorized", but the other 2 work.

Geg

That's the because the 12 Volt project (currently on hold) is a lunch box and as such is in the Tailgate section. The other two are vehicles.

Go into your user CP and join the tailgate group, then you should be able to see it.

OK , I'll play Mickey the Dunce, what is the chewed up part? A31 Ford? This is my first Ford since the early 80s TIA :D

There is no chewed up part. The roll pin that holds the 1-2 shift fork to it's rail fell out and was laying in the case

If it makes you feel better Andy, I didn't see it either until the very last pic.

Yah, I saw the roll pin loose in the transmission. Good catch. I was referring to the OP, a31 Ford's 4th and 5th pictures. :D

I saw the missing roll pin, or should I say an unoccupied roll pin hole at first glance

I've seen that problem before.

I don't see the loose roll pin other than in his hand...

what he said, i was like looking soooo hard:shok::annoyed:

The 4th and 5th pictures are the front plate of the OLD transmission........ (removed the input shaft with 2 fingers, once the slave cyl. was off....

Now you know the reason for the replacement trans..... :)

Oh, I get what you were asking now. Yeah, I couldn't tell what those were either. The shot was too close.

I've been quite lucky with the FM trannies. Haven't had any real issues with them so far so I haven't seen that one yet. Once I knew a pin was missing it was obvious, but I was concentrating so hard on the gears in the first few pics I didn't even look at the forks.
