One of the items on my list for my Mazda is to niz the old carpet and so with bedliner for the floor, but I don't know what to do about sound deadening or insulation that I can still put a protective coating of liner over for durability.

Anyone know of any good products or used anything like what I'm looking for? It would have to be available in roll-on or rattle can packaging as I have no access or experince with a spray gun.

if you have the bed liner sprayed on professionally, have them do it without putting in the coarse granuals used for traction. that will make a much smoother coating for sure. then you could use the ebay Rattle Trap sound deadner and cut and stick it on top of the bed liner. i've been using that stuff all over the interior of my truck and it is easy to use and works well. it's cheaper than the Dynomat brand. then i just put carpeting over all that. i like it for sure.
good luck with your project.

My goal is no carpet whatsoever, and in place of carpet a protective layer of bedliner. My issue is that I'd still like to have some sound deadening and insulation but am not sure how to accomplish this.

Thanks for the tip on the granules, strvger.

Also, thanks to PFM for the link, that's half the equation right there.

The way I'm picturing it (if I can find an insulative product that goes on like the second skin) is first a layer of sound deadening, then insulation, then the bedliner.

Definately find something for it. Its annoying how loud my little truck is. I ruined the carpet muddin one day, tore it all out & instantly regreted having no sound deadener. It makes a BIG difference. I myself am looking for something similar, because i want it to be DEAD silent in there once i get my carpet in. Lol. So i'm trying to find some roll on to put under the carpet & fabric sound deadener. Let me know if you find anything good sir. :icon_cheers:

im looking for the same stuff, let me know if you find anything that works

I have bare floor with rattle can undercoat or rockerguard or something, after I put a muffler on the truck, I don't notice any noise. But I am extremely used to a noisy truck.

X2 on lizard skin he beat me to it. I imagine any bedliner practically doubles as insulation and sound deadener.
