So Finally after 230k my timing belt went out, well the tentioner went bad, and the crank pulley would not come out and after a few headaches it did, now I'm trying to set it into time but I can't find a pic that shows which marks to set on the crankshaft, can someone pleAse shine me in. Thanks

the way i do it is line the crank pulley mark with 0*tdc making sure the #1 cylinder is on the compression stroke. (pull spark plug and put your finger over it and have someone turn the engine over with a wrench. you'll feel air push your finger up)pull your distributor cap line the rotor up with the #1 plug wire. line up your cam sprocket with your notch on the black cover. get it running then set ignition timing. i don't think i missed anything i did it in a hurry so if i did someone chime in. good luck

I can email a Word doc file with the process, or upload it to somewhere if anyone wants.

The keyway in the crankshaft will point to 'noon' when the engine is at TDC. It is the same TDC on compression or exhaust...

Quote:
1. If not done:
a. Loosen tensioner adjusting bolt.
b. Using Camshaft Belt Tension Adjusting Tool T74P-6254-A, pry tensioner clockwise against spring tension as far as possible.
c. Tighten adjusting bolt to hold tensioner in released position.
2. Align crankshaft so number one piston is at TDC (top dead center) with crankshaft key pointing straight up and circle on crankshaft sprocket (6306) aligned with notch in engine front cover (6019) .
3. Align triangle on camshaft sprocket with triangle on inner timing belt cover.
4. Align diamond on oil pump sprocket with diamond on inner timing belt cover.

Some oil pump sprockets won't need to be timed as there is no distributor.
